Loss Of Power @ 15k Service

I have just had my 15K service done.

I am finding that I have a lot less power right through the rev range with low revs really causing me some concern. The power comes on no where near as smooth as prior to the service and when it does kick in and it feels like it is doing it tough when pushed, not wanting more like it used to.

I have read some stuff on the forum but there didn't seem to be any final answer to the problem??

Any ideas or info guys?

Maybe its the oil they put in? I have read here somewhere that people putting the wrong type oil in their turbo's, and they turned into a slug. they changed their oil again, and voila! back to normal.

Just a thought.....

I'd imagine something has come adrift. Take her back & tell Mr. service manager this story.

The turbo sound isnt louder as well is it? I had a similar loss of power after getting my car serviced, and the reason was that they forgot to re-attach the output pipe from the turbo, so there was no real boost.

Have to say though, the car still went ok! Although sounded a bit like a rice buy as the turbo sound was very loud (turbine was exposed to the air) and there was also a very loud popoff sound, much louder than standard.

how many k's have you done since the service, there was a firmware update that come out from ford at the end of june which changed a few things in the tune, it may take upto 100kms before it behaves as per normal

Just had my 15k service today and was a bit concerned about what I had read in this this thread, regarding loss of power.

However, the T went like a scolded cat on the way home. :innocent: Then I realised that with an extra 12kms on the clock and the ave fuel consumption display having increased (hasnt been reset or changed since June 03), the workshop apprentice probably took it out and thrashed the nuts off it! (to check the diff/trans clunks, which of course he couldnt find a fault with  )- must have been something to do with the adaptive shift and ecu?
