So I didn't think about insurance before I lowered my car :pooh:

Anyway I need to get the car RTA inspected and approved before NRMA will be okay. Because it's a commercial vehicle... ute.

It was done at Wholesale Suspension. SL in front SSL in rear, all receipts etc.

Where can I take it to be inspected? I'm in the Sutherland Shire. How hard is it to get approved? It's not too low. No lower than a lot of other cars on the road.

What's involved? Just taking it to one of these places, getting a certificate and calling NRMA?

Any info would be great. ASAP, because NRMA aren't covering me till I get the approval. :3gears:

Okay I looked at VSI 15 from RTA. It has a list of engineers I believe. One of them is just around the corner from me in Illawong. :3gears:

Yeah and their premiums are ridiculous too.

The car is under a company name anyway, and I'm not a nominated driver. Nominated driver is over 50. Still, NRMA are the cheapest.

Can this not be done the right way? What are the odds NRMA will let it go if I tell them I'll walk?

Also, with changing insurers, I think we pay monthly, do I have to pay out anything?

But let's keep changing out of contention, that's a last resort. I just want to get an engineers approval so I can be insured.

Surely someone has had to deal with this before.

wtf why did you tell them about the suspension if your not even listed as a nominated driver that's going to be a lot bigger issue if you have an accident , especially after hours if it's registed as a business vehicle.

It sounds to me like they don't really want to insure you they have an easy out using the suspension as an excuse.

Never heard of any one having to do this just because of suspension change , If it's all within legal limits there is no reason to ask this from you.

I seen it with my cars shannons don't like insuring bmw 320's so premium was 300 more than nrma , but with the XR6t they were 400 cheaper.

The nominated driver is my dad. It's under a business for tax purposes. Everything that's been done is done for a reason. It's under his name to keep the premium down. But I am technically allowed to drive it, just not a full time nominated driver if that makes sense.

I didn't tell them about the suspension, my dad did.

I use G J Genko in Melb to insure all my cars and bikes. All work cars and bikes and all modded. The bikes are track and work bikes and they don't have a problem.

Never had to do more than send in a pick and reciepts for my mods to be approved. They are not cheap. but the service is excellent. I would rather pay a bit more to make the tough times easier.
