It whipped around a track. It was also a VERY long way from standard.172kw 1012kg, AWD > 300kw / 960kg.If you have money you could turn your xr6T into a v8supercar style race chassis and simply have a "lookalike" shell over the chassis, wind 60 pound of boost into it a la the mid 80's touring cars. and whip most "cars" .The Ford should be taken for what it is, a new and interesting approach to the Grand Touring (GT) concept of large rear drive sports saloons. Considering it is much heavier than the WRX Im quite happy enough to be getting 1/4 times and 0-100 times close to one! I know who's doing it in more comfort and style! I believe my soon to be modified XR6T will be easily quicker in a straight line than my STi. To do sub 12's in a rex you need over 200kw at the wheels, which requires in most cases a stroked motor and a big turbo ( and maybe a dog box), and in most cases not a good road car. To get the same result in the XR6T will be far easier, and a far better car to drive for normal circumstances... just make sure the brakes and suspension are upgraded. As for what modified car goes quicker around the track, time will tell.... brian

I had a bad start with him already about 1 and a bit car lengths ahead before I got of the mark. But that was no worry. by the time I hit 100 I was 1 car length in front. Oh and he did have a passenger where as I didn't. Oh and my DTE said I had about 40km's left
XR6PSI Member 80 Member For: 21y 8m 28d Posted 30/10/03 12:29 AM Share Posted 30/10/03 12:29 AM also good to add that these 1/4 and 0 -100 times by the mags is done by the whole 6000rpm dumps and I know from mates rexes that driving like that will equal many a bungf clutch and or gearboxes I thinks that our stylish luxury sports sedans will survive better in the long run. And also one has to agree with all those comments of bigger bank balances. We could have a ferrari but then we wouldn't have a house or a boat or a jetski or our other toys either. Mercurial Member 47 Member For: 21y 9m 22d Posted 30/10/03 01:50 AM Share Posted 30/10/03 01:50 AM Here's another kill story for you. My mate has a new SS ute (the 245kw jobbie) with 3500km on the clock (and an auto transmission). I had two runs with him, absolutely stuffed both my launches, (he had me by more than a car length before I changed to second) and ended up a car length ahead of him by fourth gear. :D :D

My T is twice the size and twice as comfortable than a WRX. Small car for small people

Posted 30/10/03 05:37 AM Share Posted 30/10/03 05:37 AM Saturday night was Oktoberfest here in Canberra, and Aaron was playing taxi in Bruce. He ended up doing two runs with people because of some extra's, but it would appear that everytime he took a car load of people back home, someone would have a go at him, including an Astra turbo (which I didn't see) and an Audi with plates that said N QUIK (Nestle Quik LOL) who also gave us the pleasure of his royal moon out of the window.Suffice it to say that Bruce didn't leave us embarrassed but at the same time we are also finding that we can be quick off the mark and not have to push the car to stupid speeds. There is nothing we need to prove!Somehow though, everyone that pulls up alongside Bruce wants to have a go. Some of them we let go, I mean, what do we need to prove against an 80's Mitsubishi Colt really?????Others.... well, we can whip their tail and get back to the speed limit in no time flat.... let VG catch them and not us I say *wink*That and the fact that we can fit everyone comfortably in Bruce for a nice trip home while other cars.... well, they all look "very friendly indeed" in them LMAO!
