Ecutek2, TurboBack MRT Exhaust, Cannon rear muffler, BOV, couple of other bits I can't remember. He will eat me up by 1 - 2 car lengths upto around 140.Before he made all these mod's it was a different story. I have driven an 01, and could not believe how slow it was.... it screams out for mods.... so a stock XR6T will easily beat a stock 01 rex. (the 01 rex had the revised shape & bug-eye and a lot of extra weight). The 03 rex & Sti are a different matter. Stock versions are notably quicker to 100kph than a stock XR6T.Brian

Guest cul08r Guests Posted 28/10/03 10:53 PM Share Posted 28/10/03 10:53 PM One thing that I cannot get over is how one eyed the owners of each respective vehicle are. Comments like Ï ate him up big time and left him spinning peave me. As an owner of a WRX (finally sold mine) and having driven both, I think me and BCL have a fairly even view on things.Having said this, my auto 98 WRX doing 137 kw atw (up from ~90 std) repeatedly did quicker times than my mates std 02 xr6t.Andrew

Adam Here since the start... As sixfan said the XR6T's development is only just starting whereas the WRX has plenty of modifying behind it. I think an APS Phase II kit would safely see you home if you really had to beat em! You cannot escape the fact that a 4 litre base engine is going to make more power ultimately than a 2 litre base engine.Power is a sum of the most fuel/air mix that you can get into the cylinders so ultimately the XR6T is going to make more power than a WRX 2 litre ever will. What the Subaru does have is a grip advantage and a weight advantage. However once the power outputs of the XR6T become that high it will tip the power to weight ratio significantly towards the Falcon. The Dodge is an example.Rear wheel drive, skinny 8 inch tyres, 1900kg and a 3.23 final drive. The thing is still good for 13.5's.The Subaru has had years of development including racing programmes both here and overseas. The XR6T is just beginning! The only problem I do have is if all the 'fully sik' WRX owners by Falcon Turbo's that means that they can fit more of this 'cousin's in the car to drive around and annoy people.
