Mate that is Awesome finally someone is proving some real life dyno figures.

I really cant wait for some 1/4 mile testing because Dyno Numbers are one thing but getting those RWKW down to the ground and keeping them there run after run that's the art.

does anybody remember a wheels magazine who dynoed the old 5.4 GT and the hsv R8 the Gt put out 15 more rwkw than the HSV but the HSV was nearly a second quicker down the 1/4 mile.

given the fact that another GS has put down well over 300 kw at the wheels why didnt the one I drive even break traction or feel quick for that matter do the dealers get a detuned test car or something if people dont believe me go to peter warren sydney and test drive the nitro blue gt with a ZF. why would I lie I love the car and was going to buy it it honestly felt slow and in comparison to my old turbo that only had 302rwkw at the wheels it felt real slow someone please explain.

I dont get why the other bloke that had the 350 odd rwkw run ran it down the 1/4 and it only passed with a 118m/hr

Doesn't add up does it????

Wasn't it a manual & the car mag guy said he was a bit of a 1/4 mile novice? That would explain the slow speed. I guess some proper 1/4 mile times will be out soon when a few people hit the track.

What is important to me is to see a new GT versus a turbo 6 engined car with the same dynoed power run the 1/4 & see what comes out on top. Otherwise (to quote Jeremy Clarkson) 'it's like standing at the urinals next to a horse & comparing sizes'.

Give me the T6 engine any day who wants a big clunky V8 stirthepot.gifstirthepot.gifstirthepot.gif

Heres a quote from another forum which might explain the the rwkw figure.

"That will be because guys with DD dynos will be running them in shoot 8f mode which adds about 50 rwkws"

alot to do with 1/4 mile is all about getting a clean shot out of the hole. a supercharged engine makes up for the low mph with an awesome 60 footer and half track. this showed to be the case in my old sc holden.

Strange because I run my FG XR8 in Shoot 8F all the time, I also took it to a few Dyno comps and it made more on a Mainline then on mine.Well Ill hopefully be able to put this one to bed soon.
