Yeh I'm with a few of the other guys who have said when the GT was tested it must've been a happy dyno. I'm aware that power can be understated severely on occasions but a figure of 335 at the engine compared to 350rwkw is just stupid. Either their sensor was sitting on the engine or something else is a little suss. It simply can't be running 350rwkw.

And if it were then it aint safe for a supercharger not to be cooled at that level anyway.

If it was making 350 at the wheels that is easily over 400 at the engine. If that was the case they could have gone after a certian 427 with half the price tag. Simply it doesn't make that much power.

Did it have a shot of the dyno reading 350kw or did someone just typo hp to kw in the write up? Since 350hp is around the 250-60kw mark it seems likely that is what happened.

You are correct, KPM ran up 266 atw and I think it was Herrods around the 260 rwkw mark.

These results seem more plausible

Having driven more of these cars than anyone else on here it is my opinion that something is NQR with your story. Not playing the blame game, but for you to not even break traction (although I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt - you did turn off traction control right?)

Oh and the "steering feels different" because its an FG, not because it has a new motor.

The tramp comes out with a decent set of springs and dampers. Or 350rwkw. Give it more welly and see if it settles. True.

Ford have got away with the rear end for years. So if it breaks they will say you broke it. Plug into your ECU and see its been redlined and your out of pocket.

The GTS's rear end is no better. But it is islolated from the car. So it's quiter. Less noise also makes it feel smoother. It suffers badly from tramp. Into and out of the corners.

Fully wet it came in 160kg heavier than the 5.4 on the scales as well. But still can hold more corner speed. And is the better drive on the limit or playing/drifting.

I would have taken something like the Jag rear end over the V8. To me the 6 makes sick power so cheaply.

We have been having a good run with oil prices and the dollar. Bogans and road death is so topical for the media.

What's the bet Ford finally release the car we all want. And it's too late. Ala 1973

I am curious to see if the 335 GT tramps with stock set up, my FPV dealer said there was revised suspension in the new GT. My manual FG F6 did tramp with stock power, it kept doing so with king springs and bilstein upgrade, it still tramped with 359kw.. and now it has finally appeared to have gone with some super pro bushes upgraded in the diff recommended by Pat at WSP. I am yet to give this a good working out to confirm it has gone entirely.

I can comment on the GTS's set-up and tramping if the new E3 has similar MRC shocks/springs to previous models. My 2007 GTS Manual tramped WAAAAAAY worse than my stock F6 did in similar situations, got off the line easier but it also had less power and more rubber on the tail. Handling was better to my GTS in stock form but braking didn't come close to the FPV brembos.

I am interested to see what people can do with the GT's in months to come, nice aftermarket exhausts, cam, tuning... fun times ahead :stupid:
