I think people are missing the point

Opinions are like assholes everyone's got one and fortunately they aren't all the same or it'd make for a very boring world.

Disclaimer: Not that I search out different assholes. :bum:

Yeh man of course, apparently if a car doesn't loose traction it's slow

I think OP is *Beep* in disguise !

mate in all fairness the new GT has the same 245 dunlop tyres which we all know cant handle the standard power. this new GT has being dynoed at 350 Rwkw now given the fact that v8 supercharged engines are more Responsive lower in the rev range as oppose to turbo lag.

I note it did not break traction once I would understand this if it were running 305 Michelin Pilots at the rear.

I'm pretty sure he's not worried about petrol and insurance, what he was saying is that he doesn't see the point in paying more for something that also costs more to run but feels slower than the F6.

He obviously had high expectations for the GT (was ready to buy it) but was disappointed, either his expectations were too high which can be understood with all the hype going on or that this car was just a bad example and didn't pull as hard as it should.

Don't know why you're all flaming the guy, he was just expecting the GT to FEEL quicker than his 270kw BF and with 65kw more you're expect it to feel A LOT quicker even if the sc is a lot smoother than the turbo.

If you can't provide constructive feedback no point acting like a bunch of girls during that time of the month.

or maybe the chassis is set up a fair bit better than a bf? it IS better to keep traction if you want to be quick I guess. :bum:

Thanks Dule,

Finally someone who understands what I am saying. I never said I hated it or I would pick a HSV (Expensive Daewoo Special Vehicle for special people)

I just expected more especially since street fords dyoned it at 350rwkw. Anyway Ford now have the fastest 8 and 6 cylinders in the aussie car market (don’t know where Expensive Daewoo fit anymore maybe they can push a 4cyl Torana) I think I may have hit a nerve hear I too am disappointed as yes there has been heaps of hype associated with this particular car. And lets not forget this car would not be here today if it weren’t for the iconic v8 beating BA xr6 turbo who helped phoenix Ford Aus. And it was upsetting to see not one f6 at the Sydney motor show considering it has been the flagship car for so long.

At the end of the day I have driven one of these and so far no one has come forward and said the same, so until someone has actually driven one and experienced it firsthand then no one can really comment.

Specs & numbers on a bit of paper mean nothing in the real world as we have seen time and time again.

I just hope that FPV aren’t following suite with HSV who somehow fool there owners into thinking that they own the fastest four door production car in the world ( just ask any HSV owner at the pub). Ford have never talked a car up so hard and in my opinion it is overrated so bring on the time slips and dyno sheets its the start of a new Performance era.

Thanks for your comments guys

correct , truth will be told when some people run times at the strip in standard trim, and I don't mean the mags as we know XRTs, F6s and G6ETs all bested the magazines by significant amounts.

How do you mean the F6 " feels lighter on its feet". This is the main thing I have been hoping on with the new GT. Like does it push more ? or feel slow and lethargic. Rolly polly ??

They missed the "rumoured" weight loss by a fat chick on the new motor. But weight can be hidden if it's packed right.

Being a wider lower spread of mass. I was kinda hoping this would lower the inertia in the front. Meaning less weighty feely matey.

dontknow.gif And now................crybaby.gif ........roflmbo.gif

Power is power and pound for pound I know where my bucks are staying. Specially if it's the better hanling car. The weight diff must be down to 60k now. Still that's a fat chick if she is not blessed with any altitude

Mate in comparison to the old Gt it has improved a hell of a lot it feels firmer and doesn’t nose dive as hard it was just that I drove the FG f6 and GT back to back the F6 still does feel lighter in the front it wants to change direction easier. not to mention the bonnet bulge that makes you feel like the front end is carrying 2 ton.

overall it is a big improvement over the old 5.4 Anchor funny enough my review is similar to that of Motor mag. I really did expect more from this Aussie made super car. I really cant wait to see how these go Moded

these guys in the states are getting 8 second 1/4 mile times from this very V8 come FPV we need to beat the yanks

check out these links:

Evolution Performance, Performance Parts & Accessories - Ford Mustang & Shelby Experts

.

another link where the stock NA 5.0L mustang smokes what we know as the 6.2L HSV LS v8

so what I cant work is FPV improved the Pistons Rods Intake and Supercharged it and it looks slower than that NA Mustang
