Should rename it to "Flame anyone who has anything negative to say about the new GT 355".Some people on here must have gone to the beach lately and are yet to wash out all the sand out of their vagina...Actually its more a case of some people on here are actually in the know and find it extremely frustrating that the kind of bullsh*t that gets thrown up as "FACT" gets taken seriously (350rwkw dyno figures and other BS for example).FACT is girls, the miami is quicker because it was designed to be quicker all the way through its development. One notable benchmark was the FG F6 - it was made to be better than it. I can't believe somebody is arguing that a BF anything is quicker than an FG of any guise (5.4L V8 aside) let alone the Miami.I find it funny that it took years for the public to be convinced that the turbo was the better motor, and now the inverse may be true. For me - I'll be looking to upgrade to at least a GS as soon as my situation allows. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 22/11/10 09:18 AM Share Posted 22/11/10 09:18 AM Oh take all the fun out of it Bunna It just makes so much sense when you say it. The darwin natural progression shoite. The poor old 6. I still love and cherish it. Just keeps on keeping on. What was that Ricky ???? Do wish I was at QR that day though. Even just to watch. QikSmurf Member 246 Member For: 21y 4m 17d Posted 22/11/10 10:35 AM Share Posted 22/11/10 10:35 AM Hi mate - the corporate day (or rather 1/2 day) way at QR 2 weeks ago. I didn't want to name drop or get third party people involved but the driver was WL (not a full time driver but more than qualified to test the car). I will not give heresay comments made by Warren but suffice to say he was impressed. I have previously done 2 full day drives at QR with BMW track days and we drove (and were driven around as passengers) everything from 325 manuals to m3. On this occassion I was only a passenger. I have also been around the with Warren in the DJR320 (full Alcon brakes). If you know the track (and it sounds like you do) we drove the Clubman circuit which cuts in half way down the back straight. Just for sh*ts and giggles I will give you the different experiences in the M3 and GT. Turn 1 GT(130-140km/h) both outside passenger tyres were squealing with lateral load. Turn 2 the GT was able to get power down far earlier than expected. but M3 was 10-15ks faster through both right hand turns. M3 also able to brake MUCH later washing off most of the speed from the straight without unsettling the line. Turn 3 dips down before the long left hander. There was a pool of water in the dip and very difficult to get power down in the GT. The GT got to about 160km before heavy brake into right hander leading into main straight. Again power down using DSC and TC was really good (not intrusive at all) and we were well into 5th gear before braking again into turn 1. Second lap was shocking - the standard Dunlops were mush after 1 lap. Pushed wide in T1 and T2 before we backed off to cool things down again. The M3 drive was not a fast lap - it was a fun lap. The guys from BMW drove it like a drift car - oversteer acceleration in every turn. M3 was able to hit higher top speed on main straight due to better exit speed (even with the back hanging out) and able to brake much later. It's hard to express in words how much better the BMW is around a track. It absorbs bumps (any there are many) without fuss and the car just feels so well balanced even at scarey speeds. The cabin is soooo much nicer and the car felt as good after 3 crazy laps as it did on the first. The GT felt like we were doing it harm by driving at 10/10ths. The suspension/tyres just aren't suitable for track purposes no mater what FPV's marketing people will tell you. As a performance road car it is awesome. Very few people will ever get to the limits of the cars on the road. For the record the ONLY reason I bothered to post a reply is because I honestly felt the OP was completely at odds with my own experience. My underlying memory of the GT is the amazing sound of the SC and exhaust note. I've always like the Ford V8 note and this one tops them all. When the OP said it didn't sound like a V8 and the car was a dud I had to retort.
Guest XR09 Guests Posted 22/11/10 11:26 AM Share Posted 22/11/10 11:26 AM Thanks qiksmurfNot surprised they used the club mans course ha ha did you see the mini's go around there a few months back on the full track..eeek and they can handle lol. Most corporate days are the club man track. All I think. We have to use that for the bikes. I teach adv rider training. Not my favorite track at all.Such a good place for spectators and such a boring layout.Luffy's a funny man isn't he. Pity about the water on three. A good place for testing the mechanical grip though that dip and long left. Awesome on a bike when everything is loaded up and you feel the G's through your body.Yahoo Finlay someone agrees or has seen these things std wont cop more than three laps. Neither will the HSV's with there 20" x 275's or what ever tires they have now.I usually see you BM guys over at Mnt Cotton. Must have been a big day. Audi had a fantastic day at lakeside earlier this year. The new v10 awesome. They brought out their own drivers too.Anywho as I said to the OP those that know ya know. He has driven it and that's his opinion. It's not worth spilling your cornflakes over. Like a real fast lap a fast car can feel slow. To me it's just in better control. Less stressed and moving forward lolWell done bud. Bet you still have a smile on your dial

It didnt handle well and the exhaust system seemed quiet to me. It also didnt seem as powerful as my F6. Next time I think I'll go down when the dealership is open.
