So lets get this right? YOu are making a comparison between your stock BF TYphoon vs the GT 335. The FG XR6 turbo is faster than your BF Typhoon. So I dont know how you come up with the GT 335 being slower??

hhhhmmm, they are the same power output from factory so they should be pretty much the same as for fastness goes. My BF MK2 F6 is stock and ive beaten every supercharged xr8/ GT in my car club (quater mile)

I think people are missing the point I was going to buy the new gt and I was very excited however why would I fork out 70 + k for a car that is only marginally faster than the fg f6 it drinks more petreol costs more to insure and as we have already proven feels slower. Which is even more dangerous because u need to go faster to get any form of thrill and at the end of day we buy these cars to have fun in and there is no fun in going to jail for doing 200 kph on your new gt because it didnt feel fast. We don't live in Germany. And last time I checked this forum was called xr6 turbo not v8 central

or maybe the chassis is set up a fair bit better than a bf? it IS better to keep traction if you want to be quick I guess. :surrenderwave:

had a good look at the motor show had one on it's side was very sad too see the same irs set up as the Ba/BF so wonder how this thing is going to hold up not well I think.

Don't know how they can claim to keep increasing power on a rear end that has already caused much grief with a lot less power than they claim too be making.

maybe why it feels slower ecu controlling power output so as not to destroy the weak link IRS

IRS on the FG does tramp a fair bit when booted from the lights.... as I found out the other day......best not to spin them at all and dial the power in... either way, this new 335 should not feel slow at all ! quite the opposite, 335kw is a fair chunk of grunt !

25kw when your talking about 335 and 310 isn't that much. Then consider the f6 makes more torque which people always forget matters just as much as your horsepower figure and the fact it is slightly lighter and I can see how the f6 and gt would be very similiar still. Don't forget that every b series on v8 has had a bigger number on the back but the t6 has it in the real world.

Only way to really know is to line them up.

This is not a post meant to be bashing the GT, I actually like the car, just trying to point out some hard truths.

You want bang for buck?

By a XR6T for around 40-45K mark. Pump 10-15K into power mods and you should have something around the 500rwkw mark.

If you want the badge and status by a GT

Mate I totally agree with you however given the hype and talk up of this new GT I thought I was going to have the best of both worlds hence having the GT status and the extreme power of a supercharged V8 that as street fords have proven on their Dyno it pulled 350rwkw.

I have owned a 300 + Rwkw Ba xr6 and I still own a Bf Typhoon I really was just expecting a great all rounder. it is what it is right not much I can do about it now as I said previously I hope FPV don’t Follow suit with HSV with huge talk ups and poor results FPV have always been the opposite

The tramp comes out with a decent set of springs and dampers. Or 350rwkw. Give it more welly and see if it settles. True.

Ford have got away with the rear end for years. So if it breaks they will say you broke it. Plug into your ECU and see its been redlined and your out of pocket.

The GTS's rear end is no better. But it is islolated from the car. So it's quiter. Less noise also makes it feel smoother. It suffers badly from tramp. Into and out of the corners.

Fully wet it came in 160kg heavier than the 5.4 on the scales as well. But still can hold more corner speed. And is the better drive on the limit or playing/drifting.

I would have taken something like the Jag rear end over the V8. To me the 6 makes sick power so cheaply.

We have been having a good run with oil prices and the dollar. Bogans and road death is so topical for the media.

What's the bet Ford finally release the car we all want. And it's too late. Ala 1973
