When I bought the car I had the dealership apply this special X-Pack to the interior, leather, paint, etc...one of my neighbours told me the other day that that is a bit of a "dealership scam" but not to matter. So yeah with that in mind; should I just be using wax to give it a nice clean and stay away from the cut & polish?CheersLeigh

He said they are good, but its ok to still use a high quality polish on top, like meguires nxt 2.0. You dont want to cut and polish new clear coat, just keep her clean and polished and enjoy! O Trader Member 88 Member For: 16y 1m 16d Posted 06/11/10 10:10 PM Share Posted 06/11/10 10:10 PM I also did some research into this but did not find the Wax it site, however the info was much the same.I did wash my 50th with clear coat safe shampoo early in the morning (cool car) applied NXT ( did not let it dry for 30 - 60 mins but followed product instructions) then applied Mothers Caranuaba wax over it. Looks really deep and wet.If you dont want to go with a polymer sealer remember its polish & wax. Not wax & polish.Enjoy !

I've learnt a whole lot just reading the how tos and got me to rethink my washing method and now I use the two bucket systemDetailing Guide - Detailing Worldgreat before and after shots there as well and really knowledgable guys who do detailing for a livingusually I'd start with a really good wash including door jambs then clay bar using meguiars quick clay (for the first car wash then once every 3 to 6 months) Detailing Clay : Starters' Guide - Detailing Worldpersonally, I use mothers 3 step system - pre wax, sealer and glaze then carnauba waxcleaning my car can take a full weekend though. 1st day is usually initial wash then wheels, windows & mirrors, vacuum and interior armour-all and leather treatment then cover with car cover in garage. 2nd day, quick wash (to get rid of the dust) then clay bar for most of the day. 3rd day, another quick wash then wax and polish Edited 07/11/10 05:46 AM by Viper XR50T
