I just got my car back last week from having a new engine fitted and its been going very good except when I give it a few boots in a row, if I come to a stop the revs will go up and down between 750 and 250 and then sometimes the car will just stall. It just turns itself off. Gonna give dion at dynomite a call during the week but does anyone else know what it might be?? Cheers guys

electronics or throttle body clean is what I advise mate!

I had the same issue and just had to clean the throttle body and never had the problem since!

u find if u keep the A/C on it wont stall! but try the throttle body and then the electronic!

The throttle body is just the thing between the manifold and the crossover yeh? Is it hard to take off? And how would I go about cleaning it?

Just loosen the hose clamp on the crossover/ throttle body joint and gently wriggle the hose off, you may need to remove the whole crossover. You can clean the throttlebody in place without removing it, just use throttlebody cleaner and a rag. It may cough a little when you start her again for the first time but its normal.

This may help-- http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=73561

Hey my ba used to stall when I came to a stop some times turned out to be the throttle position sensor I think u can reset it to by pushing the accelerator in and kicking the car over for 10 seconds

got the throttle body cleaned out a couple of weeks ago and been running good since except the last few days. The other day I filled up petrol and it wouldnt start, dunno why cuz headlights were on and battery seems fine?, but push started it and all was fine. Then last night, revs started fluctuating again after a 'spirited' few minutes of driving, and then tonight its stalled 4 times, twice that ive had to push started. Anyone else know what might be the cause?

xrturbomatty- wouldnt the car just start straight away instead of kicking over for 10 seconds?
