Went and had a look at a GS sedan yesterday. They do sound nice - I miss the V8 rumble. Not picking on B series 'clingons' 'cause I've hung sh*t on the GS as well, but it made think afterwards.

I'm not a Ford person, my favorite car is still my old LS 350 Monaro coupe. I tested the VE SS against the FG XR6T and bought it because in my unbiased opinion, it was the better car. I actually wanted to like the Expensive Daewoo more as I still prefer the look of the VE.

This brings me to the GS and FG in general. If people keep slagging off about the current model, knowing that Expensive Daewoo kill Ford in sales, diehards will end up driving rebadged imports. I won't 'cause I'll go back - I aint that brand loyal. So I reckon people that are passionate about the blue oval need to get on board. We know they f*cked up by dropping the XR8 but slagging the GS and driving values down aint good for the brand

IMO it was a massive mistake but we will see. The SS has always had a better name then the XR8 but hasn't it? But if you want a cheap entry level V8 ford it doesn't exist any more, all the better for the Turbo 6 which has out preformed the XR8 and also the SS I think it's whole life anyway so it's all good.

I admit now the new power plant was a good call by Ford Australia but the way there going to market it? Maybe not...

Well XR8's were like 45 and the GS is 60ish yeah? Now days if you want an Aussie 4 door V8 sedan you have to buy the SS end of story, the difference in price with the GS is just totally not justified IMO.

I honestly think this will really hurt Ford, the gaps in markets are just too big. But we will just have to wait and see.

Lucky I love my T6's A field Ford just can't go wrong in atm..

Ford have been their own worst enemy since the early seventies. It's like they never got over the Gov making them dump the PH4.

Why would you spend the best part of 40 mil and only use it in a spin off brand, and only in s/c form. And not do one other thing to differentiate it from the model it is superseding Oh but it's got new stickers. First freeken thing to go in my books.

As V8's go the 5.4 was a short fuse dog. And the SS ate it for lunch. I still think the SS is the best looking GM. But I am not into fake bumps and holes.

If a punter even thinks of something GM build it. Want 20's... no worries. want a big V8 .. there ya go. Want a sunroof .. hey give me an axe. Fraud on the other hand. This is it. That's all you get and don't you dare touch it.

Biggest mistake since Johny slipped Marilyn to many rowies that night.

Then again GM dumped the most beautiful V8 Oldsmobile to make a crappy strait 6 Corvette.
