When mine had 280 it made a stock one feel like a nugget.

kartman Member 88 Member For: 15y 4m 30d Posted 04/11/10 09:55 AM Share Posted 04/11/10 09:55 AM Poor torque down low can only be low boost, or poor mixture/timing if relating to a tune. Why would you do anything other than try to acheive full boost as soon as possible? After all that's the purpose of the roller bearing turbo. If anything you have to pull boost out in the top end with stock injectors due to a lack of fuel. Unfortunatly most dynos are too easy to manipulate, you can drive away with what appears to be 50 kW more on paper but have no more in reality, or even less. I tune both SCT and HP, HP has some difficeincies still, particularly in FG's. There is no way you could have 50 more kW and not notice it. Some tuners do tune for less torque at low rpm to give the illusion of more power when the boost comes on but this is not good practice.Cheers

Some people want that, but who wants a daily driver making full boost everytime they put there foot down just a little bit? The car also will then have issues with traction and the way it behaves from wot at higher speeds. Mines tuned to ramp the boost on, and my most people that drive it have no idea it's a 12 sec car because for general driving it's manners are perfect. Plus there's the extra load on the rest of the driveline having full boost asap.

Tuned this way the car may make 15-17 psi on the standard actuator but falls away after approx 4200 rpm to maybe 9 psi (varies with car to car)We talk to our customers about how they want the power delivered, especially when they are running a few more mods, we have 1 typhoon that the boost comes on to approx 12 psi and then climbs gradually to 16 psi at approx 5000 rpm, no sudden rush of power as described in previous post, but smooth delivered power. The car will still wheel spin but it does not go up in smoke like some other cars we have seen, the owner uses the car for track days and this is what he wanted. He has run against other similar powered cars that feel initially faster but he can normally drive around them when using street tyres.
