Gday Guys,

Seeing as though I think it is rude to ask people upfront about how they pay for mods etc, this way people who arent afraid to tell can post up here.

How have you paid for such mods? eg engine rebuilds, built autos, bigger turbos etc?

Have you gotten out loans or credit cards just to chase power and fix your falcon? or do you save your hard earned cash and buy bit per bit?

cheers Blake :innocent:

I had little bit left over on loan from buying car so bought a cooler kit.

And only little stuff I've bought has been with money saved.

I took out a personal loan for half of my car( other half saved) and then took out another to do the bulk of my mods at once.

At the moment I am in 20g debt for my car as it is now which I think is reasonable.

Obviously little things most people will pay cash

Borrowing money for a car is one thing. Not great since its always decreasing in value but understandable since we dont all have 50K spare cash hanging around. Borrowing money for mod's is about the stupidest thing one can do IMO.

I know a guy with a subaru. Borrowed 25K or so for the car. Year later he borrow's 10K for mods. All is sweet and he's enjoying life with a nice fast car. Then the box goes and since he doesn't have the cash, he refinances.. Then the engine went and refinanced again. Then with the new power the box went again so then refinances again to pay for a dog box. All up over 40K worth of loans for a car perhaps worth 12K these days. Can not believe how many people think spending 10K in mod's increases the car's value.

I try and pay by cash if I can but with more expensive things like tyres, it's just easier to pay with credit card since my daily limit is only $800.

Save the money, do the mod. IMHO if you have to borrow money to mod your car you cant afford to mod it. Whats plan B is something fails? Borrow more money...?? :buttonit:

As Arron said - OT at work when I get the chance. Plus less partying.
