satz Member 65 Member For: 19y 2m 19d Posted 28/10/10 10:34 PM Share Posted 28/10/10 10:34 PM hi alltest drove a brand new G6ETurbo yesterday with the salesman on board.Even after about 10km, fully warmed up, I noticed that when I lifted my foot off the accelerator, say at 80kmh or even 60kmh, the car would lurch forward, more than I'd expect...He reckoned it was normal, but I'm pretty sure the XR6T auto that I drove on the weekend didn't have this.Is this a 'known' issue with the gearbox? I dont like the way most auto's just coast when lift off ! not as much control that way ! better to have some drag like a manual ! Much better in the long run particularly when you're on cruise control going down hill. Don't knock it. I have also noticed more obvious of you're driving it a bit harder, but that's part of the design as well. It senses when you touch the brake pedal then downshifts gears. And who doesn't do that everytime they brake? I know I do, maintains control of the vehicle, and you are always in an effective gear should a situation arise. Also helps with economy, my F6 runs 0.0L/100km if it is engine braking above 1500rpm. Anyone with an auto know if the ZF does the same thing? Slightly quieter but handling was pretty close to the XR6T that I had the weekend before. Didn't drive it as hard as the salesman was there The doors definetely close with a more solid thunk. Is that due to extra padding inside the door panels?
