Well I was looking at doing major mods until I thought about the fact I am in a BA. Too risky. So now until I save for my dream BF II manual 6spd typhoon prem sound and leather interior that I would do a couple of minors mods which dont need a tune just yet. This is what I had in mind:

F6 intake

F6 cooler

3inch exhaust since It wont need a tune, unlike 3.5inch. Also hopefully with a race CAT but id say it would overboost.

Anyone think of anything else? If I was going to tune it I probably would only seek 280rwkw – 300rwkw. Don’t wanna put too much pressure on the old girl. Not until I get my BF II :D

Firstly, you'd be absolutely crazy not to tune with the above mods. The ecu won't know what hit it and you run a high risk of knock and hurting the engine. And as you said, without a tune it will make bugger all difference. If you do anything like that make sure you do tune it though :).

I wouldnt have thought the above mods would have much of an effect on the ECU.

3inch exhaust with no CAT will work fine without tune. No sensors unlike the BF. Will see though. As soon as I chip it I lose my mech. warrantly so trying to balance it for now.

Problem with a turbo car is that if you change the flow characteristics of it then the stock computers not gonna know what hit it. The car may try and play with it causing bad things to happen with your engine components (possibly) or it will just shut down and take boost and timing away. But yeh it will effect it.

Well whatever you get for the BA it'll fit the BF, so don't get a F6 cooler or intake and a 3" exhaust will be a waste of money, trying to sell it later on and upgrading when the bf arrives.. IMO get the good sh*t on it now, or be happy with just a tune on the BA and leave the goodies in the shed, for the bf...

ah crappers, Mika you make a good point. What would you guys recommend for say 280rwkw to 300rwkw? Or enough rwKW to take any standard FPV.

Change the dump, cat and middle muffler if you've got money and also new cooler (better than the F6 one ^^^). You'll need new injectors and a tune as well. All this stuff you can just put on the F6 when you get that to.

You've got a ba, so valve springs will be an issue, might need an actuator/waste gate mod to maintain boost and so it doesn't spike also if your fitting a decent exhaust.. The auto won't last too long with around 300 at the wheels, which you'd prob need to beat an standard FG F6..

It can be done cheap, second hand injectors, gutted cat, monza cooler, but if your valve springs are week and boost can't be controlled well, and then u got to worry bout your auto, then it will add up and not worth it when your gonna get an F6 later on anyway..

How long till you get the F6? I say save for your 'dream' F6, get a tune on the ba, maybe some injectors and be happy with that..
