Normally about now Ford would have brought out something bigger and better like the series II or even a new model revision but nothing has happened. The car has 39,000kms on it, sunroof, leather, and a upgraded stereo (subs + 2 amps + all speakers changed) worth about 5k, also has had a tune and is 300+ at the wheels.Im currently paying around $1250 a month in lease payments over 5yrs with a balloon at the end (not sure what it is).I am thinking maybe its time to upgrade / change to something else. I was looking at the new Subaru Forrester S, but im thinking i could do alot better for $1250 a month in lease payments with a balloon.Yes I know im going to cop flack from people about oh your a traitor, how can you do this? But i just want to try something different for a change. I love the F6, I really do, but I think its time to maybe try something different for a year or two. I am sure by then they will have the F6 350 or something and I will be back. What are your thoughts, not sure how much I would get for a trade in, or to sell privately, or even what I could get for $1250 a month - I don't want to spend any more.Just bouncing ideas around at the moment.. I like a mix between luxury and performance.. I do not need a rocket, but something that I can overtake someone if need be quickly. Interesting to know what people think.. suggestions in another car.. especially my price point.. remember its up in the air at the moment..but just getting some food for thought. I got out of my XR6T after 18 months and lost $16k going to a F6, then got out of the F6 and into the GT-E and lost another $4k ($4k+16k=$20k). Fortunatly I managed to get $20k off the cost fo the GT-E, so I could get the car to book on finance, as I did not want to payout $20k in negative equity. I also got a 3 year lease on the GT-E this time, as the other times have all been 5 year leases.I would keep the car until year 4 or you will be killed in negative equity. And getting good reviews. But if it does not have performance enhancement, I know you'll suffer boost withdrawal If you got the money, I reckon do what you like - you only live once Edited 25/10/10 10:03 AM by EvilDaifu

I have just converted from a Territory (purchased a G6E Turbo) and I will never go back to a SUV or any car with compromised handing (ie higher ride height). If a sedan handled like a SUV, people would say it handles crap, but because its a SUV, they forgive it. A Forrester is not an SUV but its handling will none the less be compromised by the fact that its higher than a regular sedan and a fair bit higher than a sports sedan. I get people buying a SUV if they go 4wding or need to carry extra occupants frequently, but otherwise, I don't see the point. I drive to Melbourne with the Mrs and two kids three times a year so I purchased a roof pod. I think this is the best option as the 95% of the time we dont need the extra space, I can enjoy my sports sedan, the other 5% I put the pod on. I purchased a Thule pod because its an absolute breeze to put on and off by myself and the cost of the set up is $800 for an additional 440litres of storage space. There are cheaper options but this is the easiest to use. Now I really enjoy my driving 95% of the time rather than always driving the compromised option. But as the saying goes, horses for courses, this is just my experience. Edited 25/10/10 10:25 AM by harryh
