It has done 140,000kms but it's got complete service history, all Ford, and I only do about 5-10k kms a year anyway so it's not going to climb up heaps any time soon, too many kms on the clock? So yeah, any specific things to check for? The car is at a dealer, but the encumbrance is registered by another dealer, dodgy? The current registration details are of the dealer it is located at.If a car is at a dealer, it should have no encumbrance, yeah?
CCCC miso xr6 Donating Members 317 Member For: 15y 11m 5d Posted 21/10/10 12:45 PM Share Posted 21/10/10 12:45 PM Few things buddy,I dont know how much knowledge you have with cars, but I can tell when a engine or the whole car has had a hard time, anyways check to see how well the engine runs on idle, see if it runs smooth with no little knocks here an there, check your radiator over flow bottle, if there is redish, white mixture in there,it might have a problem with oil an water mixing due to the radiator cracking an causing transmission an coolent mixing, check to see if the gear changes are nice an firm with no slipping an grinding noise with gear changes, check for rust in the boot were the speakers are mounted, check for wear on the inner front tyres, these are some common problems with ba,s I suggest you look at some more xr6t before buying it because I can tell you there are a few rough ones out there. For example, I never thought I'd end up with a Vixen BA - but tell you want - I reckon Vixen on the BA sure looks horny Good luck with the search for your car Edited 21/10/10 07:28 PM by EvilDaifu

I have a fair bit of experience with cars, grandfather was a mechanic so he taught me a fair bit, and the old man owns a BA SR so I've been around a BA a bit, not a turbo though. Time to upgrade from the old EF now. Going to steer clear of that one, looked a bit too dodgy, found pretty much exactly the same car, but with only 50k on the clock, and with a tow bar, for only a couple of grand more. So going for a look and drive tomorrow. No encumbrance on this one They wanted around $17k for the first one.Is a BF that much better? I've found a few around my price range $20k but they all have reasonably high kms. I would love the 6 speed auto but it's not a must have.

The 6 speed is intelligent literally - it learns your driving behaviour and starts to second guess what you want to do so that it does it all the time. It's closed off so you can't alter it - but it's pretty good to start of with so no need to alter it in my opinion.I didn't like the look of the front bumper of the BF but that's just a personal thing. Ford did alter it so that it didn't scrap as much on speed bumps and steep drive ways though
