I have recently purchased a 2006 BF Typhoon. It has the Brembo brakes all round (standard) and aftermarket front rotors. The issue is that when the brakes warm up they seem to be dragging when you take your foot off the brake pedal. When driving slowly with no brakes on at all you can hear them slightly squeeling. I have had it back to Ford and they say they cant fault them. I am 100% sure there is an issue there. Where do I start since I cant get anyone else to fault it.

Was it definitely fitted with Brembo's all round from the factory? Or did the previous owner add them later?

Either way, if you remove the master cylinder from the booster, there is a rod in the booster that can be removed and its length adjusted. Its just a matter of trial and error adjustment to see what suits your car the best.

While it might be a stuck piston on the brakes or something silly like that, this is one easy place to start.

I didn't think the pushrod was adjustable on our cars..?

either way, do the brakes actually drag and slow the car down or you can just

here them? if you can only hear them I would suggest getting the rotors checked for resin build up/

uneven wear/warpage.

Just before you start pulling it all to bits. Have you jacked it up and felt for resistance when turning the wheel ???

These things do squeel. Depends on the pads so forth. Track days also make em do that. It can be brake dust build up.

But for mine it would be the pads are glazed. More than likely the trailing edge of your brake pad making that noise. Pull em out and scuff them up with some emery cloth. Give them and your calipers and rotors a good clean with proper brake clean. And see how you go. I could be totally wrong. But it worked on mine. Having owned quite a few Ducati's I have done this to thier clutches on numerous occaisons.

Deffinately drag and slows the car down like your foot is on the brake. Extremely hard brake pedal at the same time. Appreciate the advice guys. The brake booster seems like a good place to start though. Still got me buggered why it only does it when they get hot. Fluid issues??

Heat... Metal expands in the heat...

Maybe the new rotors are a tad over thickness for some reason.

Most of the time when you take the rod out you'll find its a little bit too long and slightly pushes the brakes on. Takes up whatever slack there is. But in your brake setup at the moment there is no need for a slack takeup.
