Well I just finished reading the wheels article. What a load of crock, crap and rocking horse poo.

I am not one to buy car mags, as for ten bucks you can read them in one good trip to the dunny and discount 75% of it. But this review takes the cake. Well I think.

Almost every paragraph contradicts what they said in the one before. They go on about how the GTS has a better front end. Bulllcrapyshoite. It has less feel, less grip and more roll. But it's the better front end......... OH GFY Glen Butler you wanker. I bought my Ford on the front end. The steering when set up properly is the better full stop. This GTS can never be made as good as the Falc's for feel or consistency.

And how he can say that the GTS sounds better is beyond me. Even the old 5.4 sounded like angels compared to the wet fart noise the Expensive Daewoo makes.

As for the data logging you get in the GTS...mmm I'm too naughty these days to have proof in the car of what I have been doing, so for me, that bit of kit is worse than useless. (not sure on the legalities of the 5-0 gaining access to it and would not want to chance it) And what dixkhead is going to be looking half way down a console to see his G max when he should be looking at where he is going. Does it record this and play it back as in the G's as well as all the other things ???

The writer really did not want the GTP to win. Obviously a huge HSV fan.

But in the end he had to admit the GTP was overall the better car. Even though he tries many times to just say its the number on the boot and only for pub bragging rights. Yeah look at your time figures opium.

So if the GTP is new king and the F6 the old....... then that makes the GTS third. that's last in my book ha ha looser.... Like who remembers who came third.

Still 10 grand more than the F6 for the GTP and it's not much quicker at all. The F6 he says is quicker off the bottom??? is it me or is that strange. And an F6 with ten large thrown at it is still the king in my book. I'll just get me one opf those V8 sound track things that were on here a few years ago.... and smile smugly knowing my six is still going to give them a black eye for a lot less than they have shelled out.

PS one week and the silver center console on the GTP will look five years old.

By front end, does he mean aesthetics? I'd still worry though if he thinks the GTS front looks better with it's quad nostrils etc etc

Much of it is subjective though (personal tastes).

No, he was talking about feel, feed back and turn in, weighting up sort of thing.

For mine the GTS looks like it was drawn by a fifteen year old on E and speed. Busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Then again the FPV looks like my grandad drew it on qualudes.

I have got to say that I prefer the handling of the gts over the ford stuff, but I have not driven the new 335 boss motor yet. The front end tucks in nicely on the track, compared to the falcons that want to roll over at the front and understeer. I thought the review was fine, and it's good to see the ford take the crown. And as for mods - how about $10k on the gtp. I'm sure an intercooler and a smaller blower pulley will surely match an f6 with more boost. The limiting factor for both forms of boosted fords is traction.

I have also read the article and thought that throughout the review, he was looking for areas to praise the GTS over the fords knowing that he would give the win to the ford. But if the GTP is now "king", how could he seriously find the GTS that much better in most areas? I think that he tries to keep all sides happy, highlighting why the GTS is a great car and that you could easily find reasons to choose the GTS over the GTP... keeps the advertising dollars from both camps.

Having not driven both cars, its hard for me to conclusively say he is full of sh*t but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Wheels magazines are just a reference tool for primary school kids' car arguments.

I've never driven a GTS but if they are as bad as they look then...pooh.gif

Beaten a few though lol, most of them don't clue in that it's not stock till they are seeing the ass end of a Ford vanishing into the distance.

The limiting factor for both forms of boosted fords is traction money.

G6ET is quicker according to the mags, but we have seen guys with stock F6's run 12.3... Never seen a G series come close to that stock
