If it is in Neutral, and I give it a little rev, there seems to be a noise that I would describe as a "Grating" sound. It goes away if I press the clutch in.I have also noticed, when driving in carparks etc that are eclosed, that it appears that the noise is there when driving as well?I brought the car past the dealer the week after I got it, and they said the noise was "Not normal" and they might just change the gearbox when it goes in for the 3000km service....not that I think they can do it that quickly! I recon it will take at least a week for them to get another 'box in - I am sure they dont have them sitting in the dealerships!!!Anyway, it is going in tomorrow for the 3000k checkup. so I will wait to see what they say. rob666 Member 62 Member For: 14y 7m 18d Posted 20/10/10 07:26 AM Share Posted 20/10/10 07:26 AM Mine is the same. 3000k's old. Noisy from the start. Made a 'tick tick tick tick' noise when idle. Put the clutch in and it would go away.Ford couldn't pick anything up, but when I got the car back I couldn't hear it anymore. I think it's still there, but a lot quieter? But the gearbox/driveline is still noisy just in general (the diff etc). Also taking off when the revs are down low it makes a 'grinding' noise as I pull away. All my Falcons have done this (all my others have had T5's though)

I will be changing our oil to something decent when it goes in for service..currently at 2600klms and goes in next saturday to Q ford in springwood !actually, I wonder exactly what they do for that service ? our oil is spotless but I suspect it may be a mineral oil for the first 3k klms ? Asked them re engine oil change and they only do it at 15k?? Thinking of changing mine this weekend.
