Unfortunately one of those things would have last about a millisecond in the storm on Saturday before it disappeared into the air. I lost 1/2 my roof and saw trees not just uprooted, but actually completely snapped off at the base. A small part of my street copped it worse that anywhere in Canberra and we had the SES here for hours on Saturday arvo/night. The T lasted through it though (thankfully) as I had left it in the driveway after work and woke up to the storm (was on nightshift).

Interesting afternoon that's for sure

Yeah, same here VelvetGlove.

Lost some of the ridge capping and tiles on my house. Felt sorry for the poor bas*ard who had to climb up on top of my two storey house while the roof was wet to tarp it up.

All's well that ends well though...was thinking about getting a roof tiler to check the roof out and do any required maintenance seeing I have a ducted air con now that dumps water on the roof when it's turned off. Don't have to worry now, and it's covered by insurance :D

Although, it was certainly fun driving down Anne Clark Ave. when the storm was going. Was like an ice skating rink!

As for the carport idea, it definitely wouldn't have lasted. The cover on the family boat was torn in half.
