Yea the rims will clear I'm just waiting for rotors so I can fit the brakes

225 is correct.. They said if I put 245 they would scrub too much... Maybe they lied?

Iv'e only got 19" with a 35 profile. But they have never scrubbed on anything. And I am running 34cm front ride hight. It scrapes on the parking blocks. Dunno. Good in the wet I spose lol. Might want to be careful dailing in the power out of corners till your use to them. Might go from push to hello boys real quick.

Offset is +35 on the front 8.5 rim and the rear 10 rim is +42

Tyres are

Strata zeno 225/30/20 on the front. These are just scrubbing on the inside of my guard near engine bay so cannot really go wider

On the rears it has continental sport contact 2 275/35/20

I will have to start researching tyres again and see what works good on the 20's

Any one know something good?

Also because my rims and tyres are higher now I dont bottom out as much

Are you sure you have 225/30 and not 225/35. We run 245/30 on my sons car and I have 225/35. I dont understand how they can be rubbing

hey arronm may I ask what brand is your 245/30R20? how's the ride quality on 245/30R20? cheers.

Todd started with nankang on the front and kuhmo ku31 on the rear. Nankang chewed our because of wheel alignment and rear only lasted 20k. He has now replaced them with achilles all round. Wet weather grip is good and they are alot quieter than the kuhmo. Personally I thing the 245/30 profile is too low and it does give a harsh ride. I run 225/35 /20 KU31 on the front of my typhoon and the extra height in the side wall gives a better ride. If I had an FG I would run 245/35/20. 245/30/20 are available in achilles, nankang, neuton, with a 93 load rating.

thanks for the info mate. very helpful as I'm thinkin of going 20s and there're not a lot doing 245/30R20 among which most are lower than 93. I know some guys here have 225/35R20 but was not sure it that's stretching it too much over 8.5 rim. wouldn't 245/35R20 increase the overall diameter by more than the legal percentage?

Hi there,

This topic seems interesting. My Black FG XR6 Turbo will hopefully look better with either of these from Wheelboys. Looking at the 20"'s for looks and Goodyear F1's for the grip. Just changed from the standard Dunlop's to Goodyear f1 gs-d3's 245's on the factory 18's and the difference is remarkable. $1800- though.

Do most of you guys that have upgraded to 20"'s stick to the 8.5" with 245's front and 10" with 275's rear stagger or can you get wider with the right offset, change shock clearence, roll out guards or something else?. I'm hoping a few guys that may have set their XR's up for tarmac rallies etc. may have a trick or two, even if it's for an 18" rim, just chasing the width.

Cheers,

Shane

yeah, im running that config on my ute. 245/35/20 and 275/35/20. I dont wanna go less than 35 for ride, but there seems to be alot more choice for 30 profile tyres, and 275 seems a but undertyred for the 10", but cos of the taper in I think it gives more clearence in the guard. I like my rims but I will say a few things.

1. I like the rims, but I think between the design (the inner mag tapers into the wheel, then the rim/bead then comes out, if u get what I mean)of the rim and the large wheel arch they look small... really dont look like 20's

2. the tyre/rim combo also makes kerb rash a guarrentee

3. turns out they have also been painted. the original mag has a silver lip. having to have them repainted next week cos of chipped paint and *shudder* kerb rash

4. and lastly, they clear the 6 pots.... by maybe 10mm... its hard to wash the brembos, gotta move the car a little each time to get all the brake dust off.

ohh, and the other thing, do the big brembos always shave so much dust? if I had silver wheels I swear id have to wash them every day...

still thinking of selling these ones and putting something else on....

I'm chasing some Te37's for my FG Ute and was wondering if I am able to run 19x9.5 +12-15 fronts & 19x10.5 +12-15 rears with out any drama's. Can anyone help me with this if anyone has tried those sizes before I actually purchase them and regret it.
