well there you go, seems that could be the possible reason hence my question !

mate used to keep a 1/2L more in his skyline gtr after fitting 6 pots as the thing used to lose oil pressure...worth looking into ! I doubt it would cause any harm and possibly prevent your problem ! :blaah: either that or drive up and reverse out ? :blaah:

I doubt it would be doing any vehicle much good parking like that all the time. But regardless, short of re-arranging the sump it's not something you'll be able to get around.

The "starting to get really annoyed with this piece of crap quality build... the car is rubbish" is a bit harsh, thus explaining the reaction you're getting from the above helpful gents.

Seriously mate, this is second time round for running into astoundinly poor build quality from Ford. Last time round it was BA XR6 that was total junk.

This time it's a 2010 FG XR6T, interior head-lining is falling down, interior molds are ajar, engine has rough idle on start, premium sound is utter crap, ford service honestly suck! .. it's a f&*ing disgrace! (20K)

Oh and now you have to be careful where the bloody thing is parked! Unfortunately ive got this care for two years...

sorry to be so blunt, after running multiple JAP built cards, the quality IS NOT THERE.

It will be the fact that the oil is all down the back or front of the sump thus causing the crankshaft to hit the oil as it rotates.

it is not a probelm as when you level the car out the oil levels off thus no probelm.

this is not only a ford thing alot of inline six motors do it due to length of sump and oil reqiured to keep enough in sump while motor is running.

45deg is a massive slope!

I know of 4x4's that are designed to go up and down steep inclines that have spun bearings from oil starvation, and they are designed to do this

fact is the barra is the best inline 6 you can currently buy under 100k

park it the other way around, or roll off the slope first let it sit for a min then fire it up.....

or as mentioned buy a Late model camira and cry next week when its broken

my 08 navara str 4 x 4 does this. when parked reversed up a steep drive it says oil is low on start up then rattles like a bitch. simple fix, I merely roll down the drive without starting the vehicle, once levelled out I then start it. no problem. im still happy with the vehicle. luk77y, this is one disadvantage of the oil pickup placement, but, what happens to the oil when you are going forward full throttle? it heads to the back of the sump.

you must have been unlucky with your fords as ive owned an 03 ba-t and now my 08 fg-t and I love these cars. no-one likes someone coming on a ford forum where we are all xr6-t enthusiasts and bagging the things. do you own your vehicle or are you leasing it. sounds like your leasing it to me. you are a prime Late model camira candidate.

Fords are not perfect cars but for the money they are great value.I dont hold much merit for jap build quility either(toyota) but we both must have bought lemons hey. :stirthepot:

Guys thanks for your input, made for a laugh at the very least... I will revert to tranny's initial post, don't park like that -)

On the Ford bashing, it's just irritating more than anything - the engine is an absolute beast! just wish the quality and ford service was above par.

The initial concern was if this had the potential to cause major engine problems.

I know it can be frustrating with a new car and things go wrong. My old man coughed up to much money for a 7 series BMW only to have heaps of warranty with it.Even more so with a 325i BMW that has been in for warranty for more days then home.Doesnt matter how much you spend, all makes have there build quality issues. Some more then others.Hope you enjoy your T. :spoton:
