just wondering if I should get a dyno on my xr6t, brought approx 2 months ago, the guy has flash tuned it (capa), new intercooler and full exhaust system and I've done the 2nd cai. would it be a safe move to get one done just to make sure the tune is right????

thanks everyone

definately a good thing if it is running a generic tune...

a custom tune will be tailored to your car and your car only and will be alot safer and smoother...

and a competant tuner will be able to extract the most power out of your car without compromising reliability!!

60-100 will get you a power run which is usually two runs. the $900 dollars is a custom tune which hopefully you already have.did you get receipts and dyno sheets with the car?

the guy said he never ran it on a dyno, so im assuming he just ordered it from capa and that was it or do they tune it with the car??? its running 10psi which I see isnt that high.. would a custom tune increase psi????

cheers

I would definately get the tune checked out as it sounds like its a generic. if it is and youve got the cash, I would let hi-torque custom tune it.you should be able to run 15psi depending on your injectors and fuel pump. other issues could arise at that level but kent will let you know anyway. should be a fair bit cheaper than $900 too.also, what intercooler is it?

the intercooler is HDI, thanks mate I'll def look into getting it dyno'd, a generic wont cause any harm though???? I suppose fuel efficiency etc will be effected if the tune is off?? it is pretty laggy, turbo kicks in around 3000-3500rm.. is that about right???
