I hand timed my car today 0-100 ranging from 4.6- 5.0 secs with wheel spin, but wouldnt mind getting some feedback from the g unit( no not fifty cent).

I have this one. GTech-Pro Model RR

Works brilliant, especially the software where you can overlay your runs & see where you gain or lose time. They are very accurate too (except for the wireless rev detector).

Only crap thing is the weird plug. Should be USB.

yeah the later model is easier to use and far more accurate than the 1st model I have both, interestingly my iphone works just as well, and well I always carry it, so I always test things, the gtech sits in a box in the garage so no use

I did use the iphone at the drags and it was 0.01 off the et and 2km/h off the trap speed, this can all be altered (not on orig gtech) the roll out etc... very happy mainly though its consistant and repeatable and accurate against it self...

thing is they are good for soft launches on the street, but on the street you cant launch like you can at the strip so dont go expecting sub 4's 0-100km/h

Mounting it is a big thing having it all nice and secure so that there is no outside force acting on it at anytime during your runs.

The old school original one is pretty easy to use.

We put one in DUS12's mum's 4.8 TI patrol,it went 17.2

0-100 or 1/4 mile? :beerchug:

The laptop would need GPS to measure it all I'd think? I assume this is what the iPhone uses.

A laptop could be used with an obd2 adaptor. Then you would need software to read the abs sensors too pick up vehicle speed.

My DashDaq runs on linux and can do 0-100 , 1/4 , 1/2 mile.
