hi all , sorry if this has been talked about before but I need some help. Ive only had old fords ,xr, xw ,XB coupe ect but now I have an XR6 turbo 2002 with 65300ks on the clock and after a couple of months of hard driving there is some serious grinding noise coming from, Im guessing the diff. It only happens when I lift the go peddal. no issues when accelerating. any ideas would be really helpfull

Ok , why? Ive been doing a little investigating into bush replacements and on the way to work no stereo and the metalic clicking noise ( sounds a bit like a bearing ) seems to be comming more form the left side rather than in the center of the car.

Whats the chance it could be a cv.

Ive also noticed a nocking when reversing , same noise when you lift off the power.

It could be a CV but when you gives these diff a hard time the LSD destroys itself. To test the LSD, jack up one wheel and see if you can spin it. If you can spin it the diff centre is broken and say bye to 1000+ to reco it or to get a strong centre say bye to 2000+

Have done and can spin wheel about 100mm and locks up, have noticed a ware mark on left rear brake disk , it all the way round the disk about 10mm wide?

dose a dragging hand brake make a bearing noise? a sort off grinding noise. weird.

have also checked diff oil and replaced , no metal or discolouration.

Hope diff is ok, want more hp and would rather spend money there first.
