Before I dive in and realise ive forgot something or misjudge something else, can someone give me a few pointers.

It doesn't seem like a hard job so I would like to do it myself like everything else.

Any Coolant recommendations and how much? Where to get some distilled water?

Where is the best place to empty the system and how do you measure the new level in the new tanks?

Cheers Fellas

hey not sure about a fg but on my ba there is a bung on the passenger side at the bottom of the radiator. I normally fill with distilled water and run it through the system empty it and do it again and make sure your heater is on so it runs through the whole system. I think its about 10 liters of coolant and I just use a pre mixed nulon coolant seems ok. supercheap has distilled water for cheap hope this helps cheers

Thanks Matty,

I read somewhere about people just shoving a garden hose in somewhere and running the car for 10mins with fresh water running through to get any crap out as well?

I also read about removing the thermostat, any reason why?

I had a quick search but there does not seem to be a step by step guide, just quick answers that are all slightly different.

Mate just use Nulon Concentrate not the pre mix. You need a more concentrated mixture of coolant in these. Also bone dry the system will take about 12lt.

Watched my mechanic remove one of the lines from the expansion tank and flush it for a while whilst motor was running. Filled with Nulon concentrate also.

hey guys, dumb question but whats the difference between concentrate and premix?

why do people go to the trouble of buying Distilled water and mixing it with coolant rather than just buying a "concentrated coolant" that's ready to go?

Premix is generally 50:50 mixed, whereas you can make it whatever ratio you like with concentrate and water when mixing it yourself.
