Hi Guys,

I was wanting to get a BFII with around 60000klms but due to the inability to sell my 380 VRX I will have to trade it in and down grade a bit.

I have 3 cars in my range.

10/06 BF 6 speed auto 101000klms and perfect service history, premium sound, shockwave.$18,990

1/04 BA 92000 klms no record of 60 & 75 km services premuim sound ,leather, shockwave. $16,990

05 BF 6 speed auto 77000 Klms no record of 45 & 60 Km services , bionic. $21,990

All three are very clean body/paint, interiors are immaculate .

What are your thoughts?

Both the BF's sound ok. The Bionic one may be the better due to lower k's.

In saying that the shockwave one sound to have better options and its a later mod. Yeah the k's are up there but if its good full history then it should be ok

the top one out of the three sounds like the best buy, is that XR6 Turbo or N/A? If its a T I would say that is a very good deal, just make sure u go through the car service record at 100k as that's the big one.

The other cars seem a bit less trustworthy seeing service is missing and later models etc.

Are the service manuals with the cars. See if you can get the previous owner details, look them up in the white pages and give them a call.

Have they been service at the same work shop. If so there could be a records at the particular shop. You may also be able to get some feed back on the car from the mechanic.

yep its a turbo also they are willing to throw in a full 12 month warranty on it.

Just found out the Bionic car was a council car , and I know that councils service there own cars, with cheap oils etc.

The BA was serviced at the dealer that has the BF2 the records stopped after the 45000klm service, they didnt really want to give the info as the BA is directly across the road at another yard.lol The BF2 was $21,990 but when I informed them of the price of the BA it came down to $18990

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a XR6T as well, & only drove one for the 1st time(BA auto) on the w/e, & although I couldnt put it through its paces(only got to 60-70km), I was kinda disapointed in the acceleration. At about 60km you could here the Turbo whistle(lol..I'm a noob on T's) kicking in.Is this normal as:

1)They are heavy

2)Its an auto

3)They run low boost(4psi is standard?)

I don't want to mod it as I want it to last past 100KM(other than a exhaust....if that helps??), but what I really wanted to know is the differnece between a BA & BA mark 2? From my reserach, other than mark 2 coming out with a 6sp box on a manual, there is no difference on an auto, that sound about right?

Hi Dillz,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Was your answer in reference to the difference between a BA & BA2? So it's not worth paying extra for a BA2?

I read the BF auto(ZF 6sp) is a great box, is it worth paying extra to get one of these(performance wise) even if little or no mods will be done to the engine, or a good BA 4sp box will do in my case?
