I paid $41000 drive away for my 50th Ute Manual, inc Sports Bar, Hard Cover, 19' Spare, Cabin Tidy. I changed a car they had on order from auto to manual and color change, as I they had all been alocated. Some dealers didnt even have any turbo utes coming. I then look on CarSales and see a Manual 50th turbo ute, with no Extras for $45990 drive away! :stirthepot: GOOD LUCK SELLING THAT GUYS!

I an supprised at how good value these cars are. It is also strange that utes only had 2 options (towbar, auto) and sedans 3 option (towbar, auto, 19' spare). I wanted sat nav, bit ford didnt want my money! "NO SAT NAV FOR YOU!" (got it from asl for about 1/2 price anyway!)

I will be keen to see if Ford start to do special deals on lux pack now to keep sales rolling?????

gotta admit it felt like that entire dealership kinda had the sh*ts when I walked in today but the guy I'd been dealing with was ok.

Like Tab said, they are just annoyed they couldn't rip you a new one...

This old timer car dealer I know told me the easiest way to buy cars. Work out exactly what you want and simply fax all the dealers in the area and play them off against each other until they simply wont go lower. Dont even have to leave the office :)

I find it best to either ring, email or fax and tell them "I am buying a ????? with these options and this color, am I buying it from you? Not playing games one chance best price"

THis works well and saves time re contacting to get down.

Having said that this, on the 50th I had trouble getting them to budge. On dealer who I know is a genuine guy, told me that ford had taken all the profit out of these and there was knowehere to move. He wasnt trying to sell one to me as he didtn get any 50th.

thanks guys yeah I picked up my XR50 turbo yesterday. still trying to figure out how to attach pictures

the credit union I got my loan from has a car buying service and I got them to try to find a lower price than what I got offered. they said they couldn't find a dealer willing to even match it so I got it for a really good price and go ahead and buy it

yeah the dealer where I bought the car said the same thing, the xr50s are already discounted and initially refused to budge. he only went lower when I walked out the door

thanks rab, yep figured it out. gotta take more pics, these ones are just off my mobile during delivery yesterday arvo

had a grin ear to ear yesterday while driving it home. man, these machines are absolutely beautiful in the flesh. pics don't do it justice

the interior and the dash are the two main things that have really improved with the 50th XR6. I really hated that blue semi circle on the dash with the standard ones

will take some more pics after I clear room in the garage

yeah I know havent got around to it yet

must admit I loved my 180, was a pretty good car and sad to see it go.

really doesnt compare to an xr6 turbo though. even with a fully worked engine and massive turbo, its still a 4 cyl car

like comparing apples and oranges

Hi Viper, you will be driving with a big smile for a while. I purchased a G6E Turbo 50th Anniversary model 2 weeks ago and I just love getting out in it. I gave it a wash today and stood there looking at it like that bloke in the commercial wearing his undies looking at the roof of his house.

I looked interstate as well and found they were all cheaper but its not so easy to bring it back. The dealers in VIC told me they could not register the car there because I have a NSW address so I had to drive it up with trade plates then get it registered here and pay the NSW stamp duty etc... it all became too hard.

I also found that the dealers would not budge on the 50th Anniversary Edition and chose the car because I wanted the specific colour "edge" which only comes in the 50th Anni model and I also didnt want to regret compromising the colour. I copped a fair bit of flack in the thread I started in the G6E Turbo page but I dont really care what others think, I love the car, am happy with what I paid so dont regret anything.

I love how guys think that we didnt bargain hard because we paid more in NSW for an Anniversary edition.... I haggled and walked away from 3 dealers and spoke to several more, so you cant be much more difficult for a dealer than being prepared to walk away from their best offer.

Enjoy your car mate. :icon_ford::beerchug::buttrock:
