I feel like a 5yr old waiting for christmas. I almost decided to wait for the supercharged GT-E but I couldn't justify the extra expense... the dealer told me that it would cost over 85k on road!!! My friend in Melbourne has an EGO G6E Turbo (Iam in Sydney) and he sent me a message saying "Welcome to the family". We then spent 20 minutes talking about how awesome the car is. Ah Well, only 9 more sleeps and counting!!!

How has your first week with the beast been Tony?

Well, as I have upgraded from a G6, its not like I am in a completly different car but obvious diffences are POWER, noise, handling, comfort, luxury, oh, did I mention power? Ahh yes, what a difference. For the 1st few nights with the car in my car port, I would lie in bed, not able to sleep because of excitment.

Its got 1500 km on the clock but I still havent given it full throttle. I will wait a bit longer. May people say its quite safe now for full power, even the owners manual says its run in by this stage. 1/4 to 1/2 throttle is ample for most situations by far.The power comes on really early, around 2000 rpm then its a case of WOW, look out. Aside from the power, it can be driven like any other everyday family car and you would't even know that you have around 380 horses under the bonnet. Ive got the child seat in the back now, my 5 year loves it however when I touch the go pedal, he yells "stop speeding daddy!". Every one we see he tells them "come for a ride in our car!" Yeah, he is a fan.

Its the ultimate family/luxury car, every home should have at least 1. you will love it, even when its keeping you awake

Excellent summary, thanks Tony. Now I can barely contain my excitement. After many years wanting a performance car (since 1983 when dad came home with a S pac falcon that was lowered with mags before it was fashionable to be a hoon), I am finally getting one with loads of luxury too!!! Now I just have to contain myself so that I don't lose my license in the first month... or day.

you can get to the speed limit as quick as you want, just back off when you get near it, 80 km limits are perfect, that's what red lights are for.

Be gentle to your new car, it wont feel quick to begin, it will need to learn your driving style and then it will adapt. If you push it hard off the line, it will respond over a short time by launching harder. Same by reving it hard, it will in time want to rev harder. I have read that after 2 years, a G6ET gained 20 KW from new, no mods. They improve with time

from either stationary or 40ks - 110ks after road works is the ticket.

brings back memories of the BVWE1.

My mate tells me that whenever he pulls up next to a HSV, they are all scared to even consider taking on the G6E Turbo so they just look straight ahead and take off like nannies.... is this true fellas? Any stories of eating more expensive HSV's in a short sprint?

Wouldn't know  Those things with the 297 badges are my favourite...they must be the bogan's car of choice now.

But most don't even give you a glance, which I think is more ignorance rather than fear.
