It's practically a base model Lancer inside with evo engine and drive train. Can't beat Jap build quality though. If you want a strict performance trackable car then the Evo is the go. If you want a daily driver with creature comforts and grunt then the Falcon is the pick.Benny
scottay Member 366 Member For: 14y 7m 29d Posted 03/10/10 11:22 PM Author Share Posted 03/10/10 11:22 PM I just dno how a 2 year old car can have like vibrating door trims and creeky dash. Like wtf is going on !!! I know evos are extremely expensive for what they are but the other options are a s15... which I will just end up drifting like my old 180. Would never get a wrx. And would not get a skyline. Wont get an SS they are sh*t. Options are limited !

If the stuff mentioned above is all you've got to grizzle about then I'd say your not doing too' bad really. Have you thought about doing something about it? Apart from the driveline slop (which is built in from the factory) everything else you've mentioned is fixable.

No regrets for the decision.I've driven an EVO8, 9, and 10 and they are all sharp as. Ride is a bit firm, and I think I'd get sick of an EVO as a daily driver, that's why I went with the STi. More compliant ride and better interior also. You won't regret getting into an EVO, great bits of kit.Another good option would be an FG. Quite a step up from the B-series falcons, and definately worth looking at as an upgrade. I'll be looking at a GS/GT myself in the coming 18 mths. Won't replace the STi, but will better fill the family tourer needs.

Its all well and good having a amazing 6 speed auto to bad when the rest of the driveline is fkn sh*t house.I just had the dif bushes replaced and it didnt really fix alot. Whenever I get on the power hard and then back off at a high rev I get a little knock / thud from somewhere. f*cks me off lol

As for the squeeks and vibrations, a bit of dynamat should stop the door trims and some investigations will usually find the creaking.I think you are just trying to justify getting a Evo which is not a bad car, but would be annoying as a daily driver.Personally a weekend work with someone to help will sort out most of the problems. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 04/10/10 02:24 AM Share Posted 04/10/10 02:24 AM The FG has many many squeeks and rattles too. Fit some stiff suspension and go for some fun down a few dirt roads and it will be like an epileptic with a canasta. The door trims are far worse than the BF's. They are so thin and cheap it really isn't funny. And as for sound proofing.......But as Zap said these things are easily fixable. You can get the dynamat off ebay quite cheap, and about a weekend worth of labour and all good. Use some loctite on the Retaining bolts and dampening tape where you see the dash rubbing. If your not worried about adding extra weight, then go nuts with the Dynamat and they become a very quite car.Never had an Evo. But even my 00 Rex became hard to live with on a daily basis. It had stiff suspension and a few mods. If your not doing sprints or circut work then keep the Ford. You will sh*t when you see what they offer you as a trade.Or buy the Evo and a junker for a daily.
