For me, I looked for undriven demos from Vic, Syd and QLD. They only had non 50th Anniversary models and the best I could get in QLD and VIC was 45k drive away. The best price in Sydney was 47.5k for a 0km demo. In the end, I decided that I wanted the 50th Anniversary model because I wanted the Edge Colour which only came in the 50th Anniversary model and I liked the extras. Purely from a financial sense, it was not worth it, but when buying a new car and looking at the cost net of tax, I would not have saved enough to not get exactly what I wanted, so I stumped up for the extra and am very happy doing so. If you are looking for value and like one of the other colours, go straight for a undriven demo for 45-47k, but if you know exactly what you want and are prepared to pay the extra, then I would much rather be happy. For me, it was better to get what I want for 53k than to compromise for 47k. Horses for courses. Then you can save even more for a low KM model, again, not something I wanted to compromise. I can however see why somebody would purchase a low km model. Why do people spend 5, 10, 20k making an already insanely fast car (in terms of what you can legally do on the road), faster and less reliable? I think the tuning thing is like tattoo's..once you have done it, you need to do it ! addictive and its also that the power gets addictive too ! more more more ! as for the price, yes spot on and I do agree with spend what you want to "get exactly what you want"... I have no problem with that... but its good to have the other peoples prices available for bartering stakes.. if you're happy, I am happy ! we all love our beasts for different reasons ! As for my question on tuning, I understand the choice is personal and would absolutely be worth every cent for one bloke and be considered a complete waste of money for another. That's the same when it comes to what is considered good value for a new car, unless the cars are identical when paying more for one over the other is a waste. The other exception is if you are choosing a commodore, and then you just have no idea! Edited 22/10/10 12:17 PM by harryh

Read that someone paid 43 in Brisbane and I knew that was my target. It's all about negotiation and bullsh*tting with the dealer. Maybe I was lucky as most dealers laughed. My opinion on saving approx $10k based on a colour and a few extra specs is silly. I find it hard to understand why you would pay so much money when so many of us have bought the car is the mid $40's. Sure the 50th is a limited range, but lets be honest its a Ford and resell value is poor in 3-5 years. I'm not to sure about Harryh comment about net tax, if the car is 10k cheaper you can still salary sacrifice or have it as a business deduction. The only difference financially is the colour of the car and a limited badge.Anyway enjoy the car Dorko

It would be good if people could please just post the price they paid (on the road), together with any other options they got.It would really help others get a good price, and would help Ford sell more of their cars too!If you're willing to, please post the dealer's name as well (after all they could get more business out of this)I don't think opinions on the car vs another car are needed here (there's plenty of other threads for that!)cheers

hrick Member 210 Member For: 15y 1m 14d Posted 22/10/10 10:04 PM Share Posted 22/10/10 10:04 PM Sorry for the double posts, not sure how people can post their details for the table, maybe if I include the url the table (converted to image) could be edited? ( I dunno) Someone who knows much more about this web based stuff could probably offer an easier solution?
