Yep, they do depreciate quick. 10% when driven out of the dealership and another 10% in 12 months, takes the value down to 43k very quickly. I figure that since I am paying for 80% of the car from post tax dollars, the total net cost of the car will be $36,380 which is not too bad considering what you get for your money. The 50th Anniversary model does have a couple of extras but they wont increase the value much (if at all) on the second hand market.

I will post pics once I get my hands on the car which will probably be at the end of next week.

Worth it I reckon, if I was in the market for a newie at the moment would definitely go for edge and sacrifice a few extra beer tokens to make it happen.

Might be a good idea to log-off this forum and stop reading about how much fun everyone is having for the sake of your sanity :spoton:

Tell me about it... the more I read about how awesome this car is, the more impatient I get. I reckon when I get the car I will sit there for the first night with a spotlight on it and just watch it :spoton:

BTW, ford have lent me a little Fiesta Ecotec and I am really surprised at how good this little car is. It's supposed to only use 3.7l/100km though not the way that I have been driving it. The little diesel engine is very willing and smooth when being hammered.... I give it some stick and I leave most cars behind so I am impressed. I hooked up my phone on bluetooth in around 30 seconds, the car handles relatively well and generally I am having fun in this little car. Ford are really doing a good job at the moment.

Was reading another thread on this forum about prices of G6Eturbos, and I remember seeing people paying ~ $43 - 44k driveaway, with options like tinting/19 inch wheels.

Are any dealers doing prices like that (or like Hazey's price above)? Or are those low prices hard to get?

I'd be keen on the Edge colour as well, but wouldn't want to pay that much more for it compared to a non-50th. I'd be happy with Seduce as well...

not having a go but where is the extra 10k that some have paid for the G6ET over the XR6T :msm: If they were same price then I'd say its personal choice as to luxury or sport editions but to pay 53k ? that's nuts ! especially when there's hazey paying 43k ! :msm:

Not calling him a lier but I find that extremely hard to believe, the price must not include on road costs and maybe even a trade in. You can get 08/09 with under 10k for 40, I'd rather have 10k on the clock then pay and extra 10k for the car.

But if you got a burning desire to spend 50 grand then spend the 10k you save on modsbuttrock.gif

paid 43.220 for ours, that's hwy I was saying ! I aint about to post a reciept etc but why would he lie ? 53k is simply rediculous ! I am with you, pay 10k less for a year old motor ! thing is, if that's the case, why not buy the xr ? I am sure you can live without lights in the visors and still have a new car for under 44k ! :buttrock:

People love bragging about the 'deals' they get.

IMO the G6 has better inside and the XR better outside (only cause the G6 looks like an XT).

dillz, I don't agree with the "bragging " comment, I reckon it's good to get an idea of what to expect to pay ! if there's more than 2/3 people getting them for sub 45k new, then the potential buyer has the knowledge to go and get their own great or good deal ! If the buyer is happy to pay 8k over average, then fine no problem but I still think its good to know the "going rate"... :buttrock:

40k after a year paying 43/44k = $3-4k loss

same car after a year paying 53k = 10-13k loss ! big difference and if the info was available, I'd rather have it !
