Guys,

Unfortunately when replacing the reverse sensor after a transmission oil change I have struck a problem.

The reverse sensor has snapped white tightening with minimal force, the internals of the sensor have come out however the external threaded casing remains in the gearbox.

Thought I would ask if you guys know any tricks of the trade to remove this threaded casing allowing me to just replace the sensor.

I have a feeling I am screwed and will require it to be toed and pulled apart by a specialist?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Andew.

You could try an Ezy Out. That's probably your best bet.

You could drill it out almost to the same size and the just pick out the left over threaded part which would then be thin enough to break up, but you'll end up with the drillings inside the box.

If there's plenty of room around the switch you could weld/bronze a nut or bolt to it and then screw it out.
