Maitland Posted 30/09/10 10:19 PM Share Posted 30/09/10 10:19 PM Hey guys, last night I did a full service on my car and had the new plastic pan ready to go after I drained the oil and replaced with Transmax Z and low and behold the pan is steel with a replaceable filter! Woot! Only problem was I didn't have a new gasket to suit the steel pan or a new filter. The steel pan doesn't have a drain plug either so the plastic pan is on for now while I get the steel one fitted with a drain plug. All the bolts are different between the two pans two so lucky we had 21 6mm bolts and washers on hand or we woulda been f*cked.Has anyone else found they have a steel pan from the factory or did I just get a Monday XR6 instead of a Friday XR6?PS geez it drives nice full of Transmaxmthis might sound weird but the car seems quieter or something. Maitland Posted 04/10/10 10:48 AM Author Share Posted 04/10/10 10:48 AM Hey Benny it was nerve wracking but mainly due to finding a different pan, not having the right bolts etc. But all in all its not that hard. When the steel pan is modded and ready to go back on I will drain again and top up with more Transmax. You really need a pump to do the service to pump the new oil in.
