Maitland Posted 30/09/10 10:19 PM Share Posted 30/09/10 10:19 PM Hey guys, last night I did a full service on my car and had the new plastic pan ready to go after I drained the oil and replaced with Transmax Z and low and behold the pan is steel with a replaceable filter! Woot! Only problem was I didn't have a new gasket to suit the steel pan or a new filter. The steel pan doesn't have a drain plug either so the plastic pan is on for now while I get the steel one fitted with a drain plug. All the bolts are different between the two pans two so lucky we had 21 6mm bolts and washers on hand or we woulda been f*cked.Has anyone else found they have a steel pan from the factory or did I just get a Monday XR6 instead of a Friday XR6?PS geez it drives nice full of Transmaxmthis might sound weird but the car seems quieter or something. When the steel pan is modded and ready to go back on I will drain again and top up with more Transmax. You really need a pump to do the service to pump the new oil in.
