Samboc you don't need to defend your decision to anyone as it's your decision. People are just voicing there opinion for the sake of discussion.

Personally I wouldn't go near one after seeing first hand how they're treated but that's just me, not saying there wouldn't be good examples out there.

The brakes are designed to go down Conrad at 300K and slow to 80K.

:roflmbo: You're cracking jokes aren't you?

But yeah congrats on your new ride, just don't expect everything to be V8 supercar spec. or you'll be in loads of trouble :censored:

Everyone has their own opinions on what things are important in a 2nd hand car. Some people will only go for mint, and they pay more for it, others are not as concerned.

Don't be put off by other people trying to force their buying choices on you. I am sure you will be very happy with your car. My Ex chaser puts aa big a smile on my face as any other falcon would.

Some people on here seem to get a bit carried away with the preceived importance of their own opinon.

Samboc, not sure I follow some of your arguments, but you DONT have to justify it to me, if you are happy with car, that's all that maters. I would not asy no to an ex cop car, but it would be important to ME to get it much cheaper than a mint car. All though my last 5 cars have all been brand new,I dont have a problems with secondhand cars. The most relaible car I ever had was a Subaru Liberty. bought with 30k sold with 300k, spent about $1000 on repairs. The biggest heap of :buttrock: I owned was a brand new BAMKI XR6 Turbo that I bought with 19kms and had put down (traded in) at 7000kms. So you can be lucky and unlucky with anything. As a mechanic I now tend to put more inot gut feeling about cars now than going right over them.

I also think it is hard call BA low KMs or FG High KMs........... Dont know which I would go, if I had a set budjet I think I would go FG.

I think if you are going to mod a car, you would be better of buying a cheaper higher km car for sure. Why pay extra for the low kms then rip everything out and start again. Kms do tend to be over rated at times, I have seen taxi's with 800000kms, and still not too bad.

one note though, would be supprised if you got more than 30k out of tyres and better than 12ltrs per 100.....I got 7000kms out of my tyres on both XR's

Hi All, looks like that stirred up a hornets nest.

I am sure all of you XRt's out there with Brembo's are aware of this.

Hey- yes - I like the wheels. Top Gear did a bit on tyres a while ago. 18's did 20's every time.

NSW Cop's refused to take standard XR6T's a while ago - brakes were not up to the job.

Good onya Mate, youv' got a beast that goes and stops.

wouldnt have had half the flogging that some owners give their modded cars on the track and on the strip.

Rare XRt at the moment mate.

good luck with it.

I'd buy one for that money. Serviced regularly and maintained well. As far as a flogging goes, there standard cars designed to have the nuts flogged off them, I'm sure 90% of people on here do and not standard either with little to no problems!

If they mount the gutters etc to chase someone(like I've seen plenty of times) and break something or damage parts they get them replaced!

60,000km is stuff all with these cars, saves you heaps of dosh and you know that everything is worn in with no more teething problems like rattling this or loose that.
