Hi All, looks like that stirred up a hornets nest.

?How much is a few K more --- 3 to be precise

Not interested in a 'privately owned minter '. For 31K it would be greater than 12 months old. Less than 12 months warranty. If I decide to sell next year I will have zip warranty.

No, I am happy to pay a bit extra and get 5 years/200K warranty.

rab - what is a'year old hammered ex cop chaser'.

Serviced to the extreme. Every few K. This car came from Yass. Did long miles - 60 K in a year is nothing.

I did more as a Poker Machine Technician for 10 years in a crap commodore.

Did someone mention brakes. These are mint. Not a scratch. Not a sign of wear. Smooth. Brilliant. If you paid 8K for your brakes I am sure you would be aware of the difference.

A cop car probably sits on cruise at 100K waiting for some poor P plater in his VL Late model camira doing 105 K . Easy money. Does a U turn and brakes from 80k. The brakes are designed to go down Conrad at 300K and slow to 80K. Normal Police routine is a joke.

I am sure all of you XRt's out there with Brembo's are aware of this.

Hey- yes - I like the wheels. Top Gear did a bit on tyres a while ago. 18's did 20's every time.

NSW Cop's refused to take standard XR6T's a while ago - brakes were not up to the job.

If you mod it your warranty will probably go in the bin anyway. Also if it is one of those aftermarket warranties you might as well throw it in the bin the as well. Apart from that you may have scored a decent car but be aware that these guys punish these things and drive them hard. Just the other day we drove past a cop parked on the side of the road. He had somehow managed to ride over a massive curb to sit the car up on there. I would never abuse the car like that to get it up and over something, however, they don't care it's not theirs?

Quick response.

A few scratches under the front spoiler. 50% before 50% mine. Motor etc - like new. Bit of a learning curve

As for punishment - I have read quotes of 5-7,000K with a set of tires. 20+ ltr/100km.

I expect 10 X that with tires and 1/2 that with fuel.

I bought the car for the potential - not to flog.

Had a worked XC 351 - 350 hp a few years ago.

The xrt is not much stronger but much smoother. Much better handling and brakes.

I will let all know in a year how it all develops.

Regards

I think we were just being a bit too critical with it mate. I wish you the best of luck with it as it will probably turn out to be a great car mate. Keep as updated of any mods or news about it :)

Hi Redback,

Thanks for the positive response.

I just bought a car to suit my budget,

Not up to buying a new car where the price drops $10,000 as soon as you sign the bit of paper.

So far the car is excellent. A few scratches and drill holes. Who Cares.

Performance,handling,brakes - best there is.

Would I be better off buying from a unknown private who has "Flogged the car to death".

Or from the NSW Police Force who has " flogged the car to death" done every service possible and I get 5 years warranty.

If the turbo blows - $3,000 I believe.

As I said - Happy so far
