that is a very quick run for a stock manual. sure the car wasnt already tuned when you purchased it? must be a freak otherwise. may as well post up the timeslip mate.

that's a good time and mph for stock. I got 12.6@111 in a manual, but mine has had a bit of work. You must be close to 270rwkw stock, that's awesome. :icon_ford:

Hi Guys, I'm really curious as to what quarter mile times people are running with Stock FG XR6T Manuals.

My car has only XR8 Air Box and Snorkel, K&N Filter and I replaced the U pipe that goes into the turbo with the straight through pipe from Rapid.

Recently I ran 12.89 at Calder (have slips to prove it) on stock taxi wheels with second hand Brigestone Turanzas, this is after I was told several times that the manual box is slow and I will never beat the autos, in the same thread I was told I will never be able to break the 13's... thus far I have run a 12.89, 12.90, 12.95, 13.00

My 60ft's are pretty much consistently spot on 2.00, I managed a 1.98 once only.

So just wondering what people are running with this style setup or similar on this car, no F6's please... we all know how fast you are from factory

congrats on the 12 sec pass, its nice to see a stock manual running quick.

although mine is a auto, its also stock except xr8 airbox and k&n filter and two weeks ago at wsid on a bloody hot day at high 30's low 40's, it run a best of 13.02 @ 109mph, 60' best was 2.1** and rest were 2.2**'s and higher. Bit disappointed it didnt run a high 12, maybe next time :)

with the manual, how do you launch it, on the line does it allow as many rpm as you like, or does it cut throttle at approx 2500rpm like the auto?

ok I totally forgot about this thread and just saw it in the New Content.

I stall it up to 3,000rpm, and hold the car still with very very minimal handbrake.

Then I just ride the clutch out for a non slip take off, I get a 60ft of around 2.0

I think the trick is in the gear changes, I only use minimal clutch and pretty much flat shift the gear.

I'll have to scan my slip and post it up, although it should be in my timeslip section

oh and the car hasnt been tuned, I bought it new off the lot

That is a great time on a stock car.

I've managed 1 run in my FG... I had a injectors, dump pipe and a tune on my FG Manual XR6T and did a 13.0 with wheelspin in 1st and 2nd during the first run. Then broke to oil pump while doing the burnout on the second run (my fault, valve bouncing it off the rev limiter!!)

The more power/torque you have the harder it is to launch these cars and get them to the 330' mark cleanly... after this the manuals should be on par with the autos ??

Good to see some manual shifters having a go. I also believe that the ZF is a great box and agree that it is all too easy...

did a 13.6 @ 106mph at wsid in my manual fg ute standard. did 13.6s and 13.7s all night.. the track was sticky as that night

so I was pretty hard on the clutch off the mark and flat changed 2nd.. felt abit bad by the 6th run lol.. as for the guy sayin he saw one running 14+s, its so easy to do as soon as 2nd breaks traction its a 13.9 to a low 14 straight away..

good going on the 12 mate! top time!!
