I know what you’re saying mate but I don’t get you, sorry. That’s not a bad thing I’m just different. I guess with my car I enjoy it quite a lot as it has everyday usable power which doesn’t get me into a lot of trouble. I think the lack of understanding or appreciation I have with wanting a car like that is the fact I wouldn’t want to change my driving style to compensate for my car if that makes any sense.

I have zf6spd 380rwkw @ 15psi & it's streetable even in the wet. I can putt around in 50km/h residential areas with it feeling no different to a stocker but out on an open highway with the foot planted then you are at jail speed in no time flat. Guess I'm lucky to have such a driveable tune but I reckon it could still take a bit more without losing streetability.

There is an accellerator pedal on these things & it has travel, not just flat to the floor or right off.

I have only let one of my mates drive who I trust & know to be a competent driver who's not going to let go of the steering wheel & sh*t his pants when the rear steps out. He also owned a pretty powerful SS for quite a while which was sheer mongrel to drive so if he could handle that he could drive anything.

I don't often take mates for drives though as generally they ask me when I've been on the piss with them so there's no chance I'm getting behind the wheel like that. Or else they expect you to go & cut loose on the street in peak traffic in the middle of the day (a good way to take someones mirror off or send them/you into a pole). The only time IMO it's safe to significantly exeed the speed limit is on straight roads when you can see there are no cars in your way to hit if things go pear shaped & you are only putting yourself at risk, not passengers or other road users. 10-20km over is not really a big deal though & leaving a bit of rubber on the freeway doesn't hurt anyone.:3gears:

People who hack round residential areas (the real hoons) are tossers if someone laid rubber outside my house I'd chuck a brick thru their window. Two such idiots in crappy little hatchbacks were dragging a couple of streets away from me a while ago, one lost it, went thru the front wall of a house & put a woman in hospital for a few months close to death. These cars probably had a combined total of 100kw @ the wheels. It's not the power & speed of a car that's dangerous it nearly always comes down to a dickhead behind the wheel when things go wrong.

Wingnut when I got my ute it had about 280rwkw. my licence lasted 3 months and then I spent a considerable time walking not to mention a hefty fine. leason learned. long story short I would rather it the way it is now. when you drive normaly the car attracts bugger all attention, black intercooler, towball, 100k worth of stone chips. and beat up wheels on it. the plan is to get an auto and have a fast regularly street driven ute that gets used for everything. like I said build what you want not what other people want that's what I have done and I im happy with it. goin away for a week for work so il talk more when I get back. :beerchug::beerchug:

I have to put my 2 cents in! I see that many of you say how you dont like that people ask you to take them for a drive, how anoyying etc.

How do they know you have 400, 500 rwkw? Did you tell them? is it on your number plates? is it plastered across your bonnet?

that's why! They want to know what 500rwkw is like for the same reason you wanted to have it. You cant use it on the road, but you still did it to a road car. They want to see what it is like. they may not have any idea what it is like to be in a 500rwkw car or that it cant get traciton.

I have no idea myself what it is like, the only cars I have been in that have this sort of power were factory cars (e.g ferarri and lambo etc, no not mine I couldnt afford the wheels!) and they can get traction because they were built for it. Dont be so hard in them for trying!

So will any one take me for a drive! :buttrock:

that's a good point. My first instinct when someone is talking about their power is ask about the list of mods and decide whether they're full of sh*t. If not then yeah, take us for a spin.
