You blokes sound way to sensible lol. I guess that's the beauty of these cars and software like sct within a minute or 2 you can go from a well controlled reasonable cruiser that's strong and safe to a ballistic smoke machine. Otherwise it's all about self control and driving to conditions eg time and place and of coarse weather. Most cars that are in that upper power level are setup to run it and more than likely the driver has built it up and got experience along the way. These cars especially the fg are so easy and cheap to get 300kw that's what I'd be more worried about, someone fresh out a average driver into one of those with no thought to setup or tyre choice and there's ya recipe for a mess.

your right qik1, it concerns me some times when newbie come on the site who say "ive just brought a XR6T and what do I need to do for 350rwkw!" Im certainly not against people asking for help as ive done it plenty of times myself and I still think im a noob but people need to get used to these cars. Start stock for awhile, and maybe a tune for a healthy 260-270rwkw and gain experience.

Im running relatively low power but I think its a good mix of reliability, power and good road manners. Upgrades to power will come in the future but probably not before handling and brake upgrades.

I learnt from my last car that 350 is pretty silly in a manual for a daily...

I am happy ATM boosting to 10-11psi... Not as worried about fixing diffs/drivelines etc as I would be if I turned up the wick and went for more...

I think 300rwkw is perfect for a streeter. Enough to break traction if you really try... Enough to blow away hsv's... And easily enough to get yourself into trouble...

You see 80-120 in a couple of seconds...

Same here actually. By the time I'd almost finished the old phoon it grinded and whined like a rally car because my 2nd and 3rd gear clutch dump skating broke most of the driveline and had to be replaced with stronger stuff. So I'm taking it easy on the FG, but the feeling I get in headsex's car when we go cruising in that thing - faaaaaark when it hooks up it's ridiculous. I can't breathe when it's on song but it's HEAPS of fun :icon_ford:

I dont understand why you would want to drive a car that has that much power anyway, well as a daily driver at least. You yourself say its dangerous and traction is a joke.

Sorry I just dont understand the point to the thread. Is it to boast about your unusable 500rwkw or to make others feel bad for taking their mates for joy rides?

PLS EXPLAIN!! ty

1 each to there own I dont care much for big wheels, personalised plates or flashy paint jobs and people have those as daily drivers, good on em build what you want not what other people want.

2 yeah it is dangerous on the street and there is not much traction under 100kph, if you have your foot to the floor but it has a throttle and you dont have to have the thing flat everytime you exit your driveway.

3 if I wanted to boast about how fast my car was im pretty sure someone like spiro or duz12 would shut me down pretty quick

4 the point is/was was that I was interested if people had the same things said to them that I get, regularly, joe average drives a stock unmodified car and wants to go for a ride to see what my ute is like. sorry no joyrides, would have no problems at powercruz or the drags though. no powerpoles or oncoming traffic there

5 I dont see a problem with someone reading this thread and feeling bad about driving like a fu#&*ead with a full car load on the street

did that clear things up?

if I wanted a goal over 350rwkw I'd try get it it in a car that could put it down easier.. say an r32 gtr haha

agreed but I like utes and I didnt want a holden. r32 gtrs prob not that good for dump runs and trips to bunnings either. and the hp was not the only goal I had when I bought this car. im a bit over what I originally planned but I want to race it and to go as fast as I want to go required that.

If my car gets back to the 350 rwkw range I'm getting the rear suspension sorted, guess the more power I get the less I want to live up to my user name. I can still get traction anywhere above that 1st to 2nd gear change but as said above, these aren't a car where you mash the pedal without thinking it through. I still take joyriders, but you don't have to do anything silly to show them it would chop most of the cars they idolise, but it's better when they come to the drags and see a few HSV's getting beaten.
