This being the case then why are there so many streeters on here with over 300rwkw dontknow.gif

And why is 400 the new 300 if you can't even use the 100 difference effectively anyway.

And why modify a car if you can't enjoy it (responsibly) with your mates?

Lol pretty much.

I can understand not letting your mates drive these cars that's fair enough but I don't understand not even letting them in them.

all comes down to what application of the power you are after, and how it is tuned.

Big KW on the street is meaningless as Spiro alluded to if you can't get it down. You will get chopped by a push bike

for the 1st 60" if your tyres are smoking on the line.

For me mid 300s is a good useable power for a daily driver and that is where I will leave it.

Got better things to do than bat off over a Dyno sheet that is just for the sake of bragging rightsdontknow.gif

fair enough if you are chasing times or just love racing but as a taxi 400+ is overkill

350 in my car is drivable on the street. but then again I only roll in MT ET Streets now. And mine is an auto. Since it is streetable I moved up to the over 400s. When I get the car back, ill see if it is streetable to. I will keep going, untill I get to the point it is not streetable where it just smoked it up everywhere in every gear.

Its easier to make an auto streetable compared to a manual. Im thinking 400 is streetable for an auto where 340-350 for an auto is about the limits before you fry every gear.

I dont know about other people but I built my car for me not my mates, they are all into dirt bikes or have there own cars. everyone has there own goals to acheive and for me if I was not keen to race and run some numbers I would sell it and get a standard f6 and leave it at that. :roflmbo:

I'm hearing ya mate there's always someone. I built the car for me but I will take my good mates for a run but nothing silly especially since my lowest tune is roughly 600hp even at that it doesn't take long for things to get messy if u do it in the wrong place at the right time . For me it's the feeling of accomplishment for what we've put together when I'm drivng it, cleaning it or fixing it is why I keep doin it. If your a real car/speed nut there doesn't need to be a reason or explanation expect becuase I can and I fn LOVE IT!!! Just over 3 wks and counting til I get to drive it and fully finished for the first time in 15mths but who's been counting lol.

I've found that just turning down the boost and bring on alot of torque

is enough to impress/ scare passangers in mine.

As said you need to be at high way speeds to really show what over 400 is like, drop down

to 80 in 3rd and nail it, but your waaay over the speed limit in seconds

so it's not a wise move on public roads.

Tuning and more so, smart road tuning are where the big power cars

need alot of focus.

It always makes me wonder why, when you see a big number on a

Dyno sheet at max power, yet less than factroy power at 100ks, not to

say these are poorly set up and/ tuned, mainly tuned to a number, rather than an experience.

I've driven and ridden in loads of 400+ cars, some are crap with nothing down low, others with

silly amounts down low spinning the tyres on the lightest throttle. And others that

are simply awe inspiring to drive ... The ability to control power with

the throttle is a great satifying experience, to be able to feed in 450kws and know that the tyres won't just errupt in smoke.

Iccer I'm with you, MTs on it all the time, unless I've got the RE55s on ;)

in my view, any car running these power levels should incabin boost control and a

wastegate system that allows you to run low, 15psi or so levels.

I'm beginning to wonder whats the point of all the power anyway with a laser or speed camera around every corner. I used to enjoy an ocassional country road blast in the BA Phoon 333 but the R Spec 284 has never had the experience. I've taken to driving the misuss's Zetec more than the R Spec these days. Nice to have it sleeping in the garage though :sleepystuff: My driving sense must have caught up with my age :dontknow:

I learnt from my last car that 350 is pretty silly in a manual for a daily...

I am happy ATM boosting to 10-11psi... Not as worried about fixing diffs/drivelines etc as I would be if I turned up the wick and went for more...

I think 300rwkw is perfect for a streeter. Enough to break traction if you really try... Enough to blow away hsv's... And easily enough to get yourself into trouble...

You see 80-120 in a couple of seconds...
