sonny628 Member 24 Member For: 14y 3m 9d Posted 30/09/10 12:54 AM Author Share Posted 30/09/10 12:54 AM Ok I called the dealership and they said they won't do anything about it. They stated that I bought the car modified and they stated on my receipt (Which they didn't tell more and I didn't realise) "Car as is" but I also have paperwork that states the car is covered by a 3 month or 5000k warranty......What can I do?The other question is, poking around the engine bay again I noticed this loose end. Is there meant to be a hose or something going to it?

Impellor Member 835 Member For: 14y 5m 3d Gender: Not Telling Posted 30/09/10 03:46 AM Share Posted 30/09/10 03:46 AM (edited) From a legal perspective the "Car as is" can be interupted in many ways. For example you could say of cause the car is as . However you could argue that you only brought the car from a dealer because you felt that you had a sense of sercurity knowing that the vehicle had a statutory warranty and also had a clear (unencumbered)title. However the conditions pertaining to the sale (contract) from your perspective, and understanding, and information given by the sales representative was that the vechicle sale was based on a warranty. Now the vechicle had mods but these mods must have been legal for the dealership to pass Roadworthy. As long as you have the appropriate paperwork, you win. Now on another note, it is not wise to buy an XR6t with a three speed, this is not a tourer but a racer, and chances are its rooted, cheers Edited 30/09/10 03:48 AM by Impellor
sonny628 Member 24 Member For: 14y 3m 9d Posted 30/09/10 05:43 AM Author Share Posted 30/09/10 05:43 AM Thanks impellor, way to make a guy feel good. Well I guess your just telling it how it is. So I suppose I could be in a situation and quite possibly may have to shell out some more dough on a new engine (the misses will hate me, she didn't want me to buy the car in the first place and has already given me the "I told you so" speech. So where will I find this hose that goes to the plug at the back of the rocker cover? I can't seem to find any loose hoses at all.
Impellor Member 835 Member For: 14y 5m 3d Gender: Not Telling Posted 30/09/10 06:22 AM Share Posted 30/09/10 06:22 AM Sonny, life is about living, and unfortunatley, learning. This is a journey, and you take the good with the bad. These are not pony's, there thoughbreds, some are good many are bad. Just don't make the same mistake twice. Cars are an obsession, we endeavour to do our best, and have something that we both enjoy and are proud of. Mate don't get down, just get even.Push on, because these weapons are top grade, when you get it right, but you have to start somewhere. Cheers PS your girl

sonny628 Member 24 Member For: 14y 3m 9d Posted 30/09/10 01:55 PM Author Share Posted 30/09/10 01:55 PM Found the hose hiding down the back of the engine and hooked it up. No fix. I'm gonna book it in for a mechanic to have a good look at her and see what we can do, hopefully all goes well. In the mean time if anyone has any ideas as to what they think might be let me know cheers
