Im not having much luck lately with the old Ba series 1, turns out ive blown the exhaust manifold gasket so car sounds like sh*t with air leaking out and whatnot. My question would be is there a better quality type/brand of gasket out there than the one Ford used as ive no doubt the quality of the stocky wouldnt be the best. Also since the turbo will be off should I replace the gasket to the dump as well if theres a better quality one out there somewhere?

Are you sure it's the gasket?

It's a metal gasket. I doubt you've blown that.

It's quite common for the manifold bolts to come loose. That could be your problem.

It's a tricky one.

We use heaps of Loctite products at work and they don't have anything that will withstand the temperatures at the manifold.

The bigger turbo setups we work on all have lock straps that stop the bolts from turning. Ford should've had something like that IMO.
