I personally don't think it does anything for your car but there are plenty of pretenders out there

Putting a bonnet bulge on a 6

Putting a big wing on a 6

Putting GT-P seats in a 6

It's up to the owner but geez there's some ordinary imposters out there

And why do you think that people that do these particular modifications are pretenders and what do you think that they are pretending to be?

Are then those who choose to modify their engines also pretenders, those who tints their windows charlatans, those who install intercooler grilles fakirs etc. etc.?

Perhaps they are individuals who like the look of a particular feature that is not available as an option for their vehicle.

I personally liked the look of the Bonnet Bulge, asked the dealer if I could have one, got it done for my benefit - no pretence involved.

Anyway my 2 cents worth (rounded down - 0 cents :doh2: )

I reckon that if people think it looks good and they are prepared to spend the money "Go for it" not my cup of tea, but each to their own people shouldn't be flamed for trying to enhance or personalise thier pride and joy. Just my opinion!

Certain dealers refuse to do mods, & a closer look they are the better ones with service & care.

To imitate another car will in the long run I believe ruin its value, but each to their own. I personally wanted an arm rest avaliable but advised no. There are a couple of Xr Turbos in Melb now with XR8 bonnets, only know of 1 dealer who done this, after the owne insisted.

Personally I believe Ford show clamp down on fake XR cars as it could undermind the reputation of the product, that my opinion.

have you checked the price of any FPV parts through the roof, over a grand just for the grill and lower mesh. that's fords way of slowing down the fakes running around. But theres always the aftermarket guys to help out at a resonable price.

I once asked if I could buy those alloy fpv foot petals from my dealers spare parts dept reply was nop sorry u need to own a gt to access their parts so that's fair enough for me

I think putting GT parts on to enhance the look is ok. But I think I would be most dissapointed to see some crackerjack put GT badges on their T(or any other car for that matter). But I'm sure someone has done it. I'll never forget the 'special edition' XE Falcon GL that I saw once in Canberra with Fairmont Ghia badges all over it. It still had the stock steelies on it for christs sake. So what If a T has a bonnet bulge? I wouldn't do it myself, but I think it looks good. As for the GT rear wing, IMO.......3 post rear wings look cheap.

That's rubbish coz I've got 'em on my T, ring another dealer who wants your business and then go back to the other one and tell them they lost a $300 sale (yep, that's how much they are !)
