Teamviewer is good, but if you use it too often (without buying it) you will have a timeout period of 5mins.

Logmein is much better, although full screen is only about 80% of your screen you work from (Black edges)

Wow,thanks for all of the replies,I really appreciate it.

I will not be using this feature very often.

Sole purpose is to log into the second laptop to download data logs from the race boat for analysis when I cant make it to the race meetings.

This way I can make tune changes to suit race conditions and check for any issues if required.

I was recommended TIGHT VNC today by an IT friend of mine.

With the above information , my sole purpose for this set up explained, what are your suggestions now.

Thanks.

I just wrote a really long write up on ultra vnc and team viewer and had all associated download links etc but stupid forum done a 404 error. If I recall it is cause you put url's in the post. Forum can at least make it say 'modify your post' not make you LOSE EVERYTHING AND not tell you why its a fail post.

Unfortunatlly I cbf retyping 100 lines.

Tight VNC is gay, use Ultra VNC. To get ultravnc working on your PCs most likely you will need to configure NAT forward rules on your routers to tell VNC traffic to go to your PC. If you have no idea, then forget about it. Teamviewer is great. Bypasses all firewalls. So use that. Unfortunatlly to connect to PC to PC, you will need teamviewer running. It only runs when you doublke click on it to run. Not on all the time unlike ultra vnc.

+1 for teamviewer. I use it for most of my work when needed as does my brother

*Beep*,

that's why I Ctrl-A/Ctrl-C if I'm writing a novel, otherwise type it in notepad then add it sometimes! Sucks doesn't it :)

:nerd:

Sir,

Teamviewer... When setting up records the ID, and create your own PW.

Logmein - another option...

RealVNC, VNC, tinyvnc, blah blah...

PCAnyware...

Shomypc...

Gotomypc...

Or even consider looking at MSN/MS Remote Desktop - there is a remote access function within this also.

By default we use nd recommend team viewer - very easy to install, run and setup!

Or where only a quick or simple job is needed, sometimes we will use the MSN remote support, however does require a request if not setup...

Few of the boys systems in here have teamviewer installed from the builders... Now I wonder who would have done that? :pooh::roflmbo:

If you have any issues, we have the setup files loaded on our webserver - happy to give you access to DL directly... But you should be fine - just go to teamviewer and hit "download now it free..." install as non commercial and u should be fine..
