Overall still like the car heaps.. Though I don't think it's anywhere near 'hardcore' as one earlier poster implied. Quite easy to drive at any level, but just didn't feel like 530nm under my foot.

do you have any plans for mods? say a complete exhaust setup? You have to remember these cars are made in accordance to certain standards, particularly emission and fuel consumption.

I bet if you stuck a better exhaust system from extractors to catback, changed the cold air intake to something bigger and more open and perhaps if u have the money give it a good tune you will feel the power this car really has in stock for you.

As a bog stock daily these things are supposed to be quiet and smooth to drive. If you after the grunt you might need to change a few things first.

All purely opinion though. I think the XR6Ts are a great car, and I would only consider buying one after sheer performance and under the bonnet grunt. Otherwise id get a N/A XR6 for daily 'quiet' driving.

...Just didn't get the kick in the back I was expecting...

This is normal in stock standard configuration. The power delivery is very linear and quite deceptive.

50th anniversary looks better, but I worry that ride will be rougher and replacement cost of 19 in tyres.

You'll find that 19" tires are usually cheaper than the 18s. Every 18-24 months I keep telling myself that I should get some 19" rims to go with some cheaper boots.

The power is deceptive in its delivery, mostly because its a lot of car to get moving. Its not until 60+ they get a move on. Just remember that even in standard form the FG is a match for a 911 turbo (not sure baout the new 997) between 80 and 120. The little pocket rockets like the golf and focus, mps etc are quick about town but anything over 60 kph will be slaughtered by the Falcon.

I remember reading about a guy with a fairly heavily modded MPS that was pleased with his 12.5 qtr timeslip. With the right launch and the ZF 6speed you can get that straight off the sales floor with these cars.
