hi all

I remember reading one or two magazine reviews on the FG XR6T stating that the torque was normally 530nM (I think), but up to 550nM momentarily on 'overboost'

I can't find those articles again, but is that really something that's built in to both the XR6T and G6ET? or an urban myth?

And is it on the Auto and Man versions (of the 6T)?

cheers

Fords words are. "Transient over boost technology allows up to 10% over boost for up to 10 seconds. It allows torque to increase above the advertised fiqures for improved performance and reduced overtaking times". I'm unsure what the torque figures are. This is for manual and auto both XR and G6ET.

thanks guys

it's weird that it's not mentioned in the brochure or in most writeups

As long as they don't track the use of overboost via their diagnostics, and then try to invalidate any warranty :roflmbo:

Thing to note here is 10% extra boost is stuff all and isn't 10% more rwkw, stock mine was sitting on 7-8psi and max spike of 9psi on a very cold day, warmer days it doesn't boost as hard so the over boost is maybe 0.5psi if your lucky, sadly no an extra 5psi as we'd all like
