So I just got my ZF serviced, and had a steel pan and replacement filter fitted, the technician working on the tranny said everything was sweet, and he couldn't believe that the car had been running with 360rwkw and the tranny was still in such good condition, so that was a positive.

Then I went to get my new centre diff bush fitted, dropped it off at lunch and picked it up at 5pm. One bush in the front rhs needs replacing soon, and my brakes are shot (contacting Hiro this week for some newies), but otherwise they said that for a car that's done 90,000ks the car could pass for having done 30, said that even the shocks were in gread condition and still firm... WOOHOO!

I drove the car for maybe 50kms and the 'dunk' noise is back... I've checked the spare tyre, gone over the WHOLE car twice, and am now thinking maybe I should take it to pedders in rockhampton (3 hours from here, and the closest suspension shop) and have the $29 inspection.

Anyone got any ideas.? :3gears::dontknow::fishin:

I wouldnt recommend pedders for anything... but again your choice and what you have available to you mate..

Do you have like a RACQ or NRMA inspection place?? There should be one somewhere...

Replace the tailshaft with some aftermarket version, reduce all tolerances, and forget peddars. They will tell you all shocks need replacing and half the bushes.

Other than that, get used to it. I have vibration issues which I believe are in the gearbox after the entire rear driveline was replaced from the gearbox back, but I have given up searching and I don't really notice them all that much anymore.

How much do you spend for what is really minor? These are cheap cars afterall.

what diff bush did you use, I have the pedders one nolathane but think I might try the superpro one next . +1 for staying away from pedders.

even though these cars have been around for a while it still seems most people have no idea how to work on the irs,zf, or turbo components of them spend a lot of time asking Questions before letting anyone touch your car,

Engine mounts are only 6 months old, and the diff bush is a superpro one.

I was hoping it was the spare in the boot, but it's tight as a nuns... well yeah. :sleepystuff:
