Did my tax through an accountant over a month ago...

They were supposed to put both mine and the wife's tax returns into our bank account...

No, they sent her a cheque...

Me??? They were submitted at the same time and I still don't have mine back... Over a month...

Imagine if I needed that money to pay my loan etc...

Anyone else having the same issues?

They are taking their time this year, they still haven't fully recovered from computer system eff up they had earlier in the year.

Service standard is 30 days (used to be 28) so if it has been longer than that get on the phone to your accountant and tell him to chase it up - same happened to me, same has happened to some clients and a call to the ATO results in what they call an 'escalation' and likely a quicker resolution.

On the plus side they pay you interest for every day over the 30 days...

Depending on when you lodge (the earlier the better generally!) two weeks is about average.

They did release a document in July that said to tell our clients "not to rely on getting refunds in less than 30 days" although 'typically' they are released that quickly

I lodged the day I bought my group cert home and I had a 60day wait. Mine was 'randomly' selected to be manually processed, then there was an 'error', and I finally got mine the 3rd of sept. But it was a LOT bigger than expected, so all is well.

Mine always takes a few months as it is very complex. I would not complain about a tax return taking over 30 days as we are talking about a federal government department.

Oh and by the way Wrom, you have been "randomly" selected for a full audit including a prostate exam. Bend over and take it...that will teach you for complaining about the ATO
